Muscle + low bf% = 'toned'
You cannot however, tone muscle. Lift heavy, calorie deficit, dont.
technically, there are ways to harden muscle.
But i am sure what the OP was talking about was just simply lowering body fat.
I didnt say you couldnt. But by toning people normally think of high rep training, as they are trying to 'tone' the muscle, not build it. This is incorrect.
T-man, you want to get lean: low rep(I stick in the 4-6 regio, others go up to 8, find out whats best for you), heavy lifting, reduced volume, calorie deficit. When you really start to lean out you may need some cardio to help shift that last bit of fat.
A muscle is generally softer or harder because of the amount of fat on top of it.
how does marbling happen?? and can you stop it/prevent it?
