I was told that ABS belongs to the muscle type that does not require so much rest as biceps for example. So I wonder does it has any sense to train ABS muscle on every training day (3 times a week)

thanks

Depends how many training days you have a week, what constitutes your "ab workouts", and how much of that you are doing.

I train abs 2-3 times a week, 1-2 sets per session.

1-2 sets 2-3 times a week isnt too much

but if your doing 3 different crunch exercises 3 times a week, id say thats too much

you have to remember that your abs are worked in almost every movement you use as basic stabilization muscles

i hardly ever work mine(once a week?), and when i cut below 10% bf, they are definitely there and well developed

Some people work them incessantly, which is overboard. Some people say you never need to work them in isolation, which may or may not be true but I always do them.

I do them three times a week, usually three sets. I'll do some stabilization stuff too. I don't seem to be overtraining them. Maybe I'd my abs would be just as defined if I backed off, but I don't mind doing them and psychologically I feel better when I do haha ;)

well I remember times when I do just gymnastic, I did ABS work out everyday 3-4 sets on 45o sloped bench and I could see 6 packs. Later I had ill and I got fatty, my packs was not visible. Now I continued my bodybuilding activity once I had stopped, I can feel my ABS when I touch with hands and they seem not small. But they do not appear because the fat is there again. I am on special diet and I am bulking first. I decide to cutt after I have achieved result in biceps and chest. Hope cutting will make abs visible.

thanks

"only" once a day seems a little often...

working abs out 200 reps in the morning then 4 times a week seems best.. but the 200 you do in the morning is a a given in case you forget to do them later thats a smarter approach to keeping the mind trained well

and off topic...
Aarons myspace looks a little bogus

<- three sets of 8 weighted crunches twice a week if I remember.

200 unweighted crunches? What a waste of time!

hey train abs to handle that first ... do the 200 every morning and whatch your ab wall and your back become stronger faster...dont blow it out..... build it slow then go off on heavy crunches...you could make life better easier lol my my space is ugly sorry guyz im learning the ropes ah yes rope pull downs build abs quick also

Abs build themselves with squats, dead, chins and sprints. No need to do 200 a day. I just do a few weighted ones so they get chunky.

abs abs abs

cruches cruches crunches

Do that shit till you are blue in the face......

a) it still doesn't give you an incredible 6-pack (gotta diet for that)

and

b) it still doesn't teach you to generate proper stiffness of the abdominal wall and brace the spine.

Seen lots of guys come in for rehab with great 6-pack abs.....yet they can't hold a plank to save their life....and it is no wonder their dealift and squat technique suck balls.

Train smart....eat right....look your best.

Train stupid....and let me know when you are ready to come for rehab.

who is this guy?

I'm not really sure, yet not really concerned.:D

Oh, I train my AB as little as possible. I see no sense in messing it up with all of those ridges and bar-looking thingy's.....blah!

I work out abs 2 times per week. I do 2 or 3 sets of 30 cable crunches depending on energy left after workout, though abs have not been that important to me, I just want overall size and mass.

He is whoring out his website.
Like most people whoring out their websites, he don't know shit about training.
200 reps of what?
Train abs everyday gives what kind of look?

Jesus Christ, kill me now.

I train my abs the same way I train everything else. I never do super high reps. I never train more frequently than 4 days. Weighted ab training exercises is your friend. If you can do a situp with 200lbs of resistance, you will see some serious ab growth.

I think he said a 12 pack look.

His ab program makes you grow extra muscles!

core work is more essential then any .. it it is hard in the beginning yes true but once your at 500 every morning 1000 will be a given...chin up and sit up....stay focused on your dream you have try a 6 pak before you get a cold pak................lol

twice a week on the ab ball holding fifty pounds or so, three sets of 15-20 reps does me just fine.

Stronger firmer abdominal's and a true six pack, can be achieved by performing the following abdominal circuit. There are 3 different abdominal exercise circuits, for beginners, intermediates and advance. Aim to perform one of the following abdominal circuits according to your fitness level 2 - 3 times a week to help strengthen your abdominal muscles.
