Im assuming that it is but I figure it doesnt hurt to ask, is the treadmill easier on your legs than running? Better by a wide margin?

Yes, there is much less impact than running outside on say a street, sidewalk, etc.

yes, but teadmills SUCK!. I used to have one, and I gave it to a guy I didn't like. :D I would rather ride my bicycle.

I know, the fatties alwayse hold them selves up. this is wrong. and when you enter your body weight you have to add 30lbs. and on the ones i use you can crank up the intensity.

running and bikes are to strenuous on my knee so I have no real choice :(

I came across this article with several medical journals as sources. Basically, it seems to say that jogging outside takes a little bit more energy, and this amount of energy increases with speed. There is a lot of other good information regarding inclines, sports specificity, etc.

Interesting article - and it all seems to make sense. If you want to run fast on a treadmill you train on a treadmill and if you want to run fast on the ground you train on the ground.
