Is this a decent source of decent fats?

it's an OK source of fats, most of the fats in soybean oil are polyunsaturated. here is a list of fatty acids from best to worst:

#1 - Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids (they happen to be polyunsaturated)
#2 - monounsaturated
#3 - polyunsaturated
#4 - saturated

* rest remember that Omega fatty acids are polyunsaturated but not all polyunsaturated fats are Omega fatty acids

Thats helpful thanks

Just to be sure polys are always number three unless Omega?

Also, do you see a need to maintain some sort of balance between say the first three catergories. I know its not feasible, but say that I got every gram of fat from omega fatty acids. Or say even that I got all my fats from 1 and 2. Is that okay?

sound really healthy but tuna in oil is DISGUSTING!

I prefer to take flax seed oil pills....lots of them...like 10-20 a day.

I pretty much stick to 50% fats from monounsaturated, 25% polyunsaturated (with a minimum of 6 grams of Omega 3's daily) and 25% saturated fats

I wouldn't eat the tuna in oil unless it's canned in a good oil source. It's usually veg. oil from what I've seen.

Just to let you know, omega-9 is oleic acid and this is a mono unsaturated fat (the main fat found in olive oil and avocado).

But it is still an excellent fat source. :)
