I have been doing weighted dips as my last chest exercise using my gyms dipping belt. When I went in today, I was told that the chain was broken and they didn't have a replacement. Knowing how cheap they are, I assume it wont get replaced for awhile. Should I buy my own belt, or is decline bench a decent replacement. Seems like a lot of benching if I were to add decline, but at the same time, the movement seems pretty close to the dips I was already doing.

My chest/tri routine

3x4-8- Flat BB Bench
3x4-8- Incline DB Bench
3x4-8- Weighted Dips (leaning forward)
2x10- Cable flyes
2x10- Skull Crushers/ sometimes close grip
2x10- Press downs

Dips, all the way.

Take a backpack if you dont wanna fork out for the belt just yet. Or hold a dumbell between your calves and do them that way.

dip/chin belts are fairly cheap... i just picked one up for around 30 bucks...

Dips are the shit!

let me find the link...

but if you just have a piece of webbing you can simply loops it over your butt and then down in front of you, between your legs, holding the knees close hold the webbing from flaring out and slipping off your butt...

saw the video on crossfit but ill see if i can find it

it looked very easy and quite effective

Buy your own belt. The one at my gym broke almost 6 months ago. It has yet to be replaced. Bought my own about 4 months ago - it's a good investment. Spend the extra 10-20 bucks and get a nice leather one not the cheapo plastic/nylon ones, it will last you a lifetime.
