weighted push ups??

I was wondering if weighted push ups would help me out any?? i was thinking of using about 50 lbs since i can do 30 no problem and gradualy move up to doing push ups with say 70 xtra lbs? i was wondering if this would help any? I am doing alot of difrent curls shrugs rows and press's for my upper body also but i was just curios if this would help. One of the things i would liek to do with this is punch harder. I can already hit hard but someone told me push ups make you punch harder.... I dunno if this is true or not. but it woudl make sense because a push ups resemble the motion you would make when punching. Thanks for any help you can give me in advance. :bulb: :confused:

I Would Try It.....seems Like Your Just Starting Off And Easing Into Freeweights Is Smart At The Age Of 16. Thats What Age I Started At And Am Now 28. I Remeber Doing A Lot Of Pushups And Weighted Push Ups Back Then. I Only Weighed 160 When I Started And Over 12 Years Have Gained A Lean 105 Lbs. I WOULD ADD SAYING LEGS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MUSCLE GROUP TO TRAIN......THATS WHERE ALL YOUR POWER COMES FROM.
 
I can already do a bunch of push ups which is why i think this might work for me.... I can already do....70 touchin my nose,20 one handed, like 30 clapping, i can d alot of diamonds and every once ina while i try the weighted ones....I can do thirty 30 lb ones without really strainin. They are pretty easy(thats y i think maybe i shoudl move up to doing heavier weighted ones. would this be bad for my back? thanks for lookin at this and for any help u can giveme.
 
thanks I hardly every train legs.......I mostly train upper body.......punchin power comes from lower body?????? hows that work.
 
Just Keep Eating And Lifting.
