I was at the gym with my friend who has been lifting longer(although he's taken breaks here or there, while i've been consistent the past 4-5 months).
And I was by a mirror, we were doing biceps. After the workout, i flexed, then watched that flex drop away, and my smaller less toned arm show when i stopped the flex. When he flexed and released the flex his arm didn't decrease in mass as drastically.

Has anyone else ever noticed a major decrease in mass from flex to flat. B/c my friend keeps a lot more w/out flexing and it's annoying.

are you sure your friend wasn't flexing his penis?

I figured nobody would take this seriously.. :suicide:

I'm the same, my upper arm only differs by maybe 1/2" when flexed

The lower the body fat the more the difference between a flexed and un flexed arm...not pumped up of course....you cant flex fat is the common expression explaining this difference.

my flexed and unflexed arm measurements are almost identical and it doesn't matter if i'm at 12 or 8% bf. been that way my whole life

I have never heard of that in my life...everyone I ever knew had a huge difference when they got ripped??? very odd

Probably has a fair bit to do with bicep peak, and where the tricep meat hangs/is measured. My measurements are about 1.75" off from flexed and unflexed.

When I competed my flexed arm was 2.25 inches bigger than my un flexed arm. Now it's more like Lams difference :(....thats not a shot by the way... :)

The weird thing is my friend has less BF% than me.

Is your friend taking AAS?

you guys were working biceps - maybe he had a good pump and you did not.

Maybe just the way it looks, and how the muscle stretches differently on your bodies. Maybe your arms are a little more elongated, or maybe the tendon at the base of your bicep attaches a little lower than his, so that it is stretching the bicep more when ur arm is just hanging?

Don't know.. my measley arms look completely diff flexed vs unflexed.
