Most people have a story as to what influenced them to change their lifestyle to becoming a bodybuilder or just overall, healthy. What was your inspiration to change your lifestyle to what it is today?

I originally started working out to gain weight for track & football in 9th grade. since I started school early I was always the youngest and had a physical disadvantage because of this.

When I first starting working out I wanted to just be strong, know that if I got into any thing I could handle myself (8th grade)

In high school on my senior year I decided I needed to lose weight being that I weighed 270 @6'2 and wanted to become a police officer.

I dropped down about 80 pounds in the first 6 months then 10 in the next 2 months and another 10 over a few months. Now I'm on the mission to gain weight to be big enough to handle myself if anything should happen when I become a cop.

I would like to be able to have my kids (when I have them) look up to me as that big strong man that can do anything.
So my main influence is for my career and future kids.

Voices in my head told me to. As a rule I don't do what they tell me to do because there are ramifications. I made an exception.

Everyone in my family has been either a bodybuilder or an athlete of some sort. I used to do alot of martial arts, then soccer, then bball and for the past 5 years BodyBuilding.

Great lifter. I enjoyed watching the videos.

I was motivated to get into better shape for football and wrestling as a young teen. This was in the late 70's, so I was very influenced by the film Pumping Iron and the bodybuilders from that era. When I was in high school, I discovered Powerlifting and started training at the local Powerlifting gym. had a coach at school who was a decent Olympic lifter, and he worked with me on the Olympic style. I think I was hooked from the first time I walked into a gym. Great question.

i got picked on when young and then when i started at 13 it was a love of the sport. i just really love it even more now.oh, and i need it now as i get picked on by my wife lol.

With me I was getting fat, older, and weaker. I had enough of that and decided to shape up. Been a couple years now and life is great. I'm one of the beautiful people now.LOL!

I got violently ill at about 20yrs old and lost about 50lbs in 4 weeks. I had literally no appetite for about half a year to a year, so I took it as an opportunity to start changing my diet without having to suffer hunger that much.

Tired of being the skinny guy in the gym, tired of being refered to as looking "sickly". Kick butts and take names now.

Went to the beach with my girl and some guy kicked sand in my face and stole her. Don't you just hate it when that happens?

i was WAY out of shape, eating bad, drinking alot, etc. i found out i was diabetic (type 2) and had very high cholesterol. i started eating better and working out (even when i didn't feel like it and when it didn't seem to be making a difference). it's been a little over a year now and i've lost 32lbs, gained a good bit of muscle, my cholesterol is great, i've went from 2 diabetes meds down to one and the one i take now, i've went from 2000mg per day down to 500mg per day. my ultimate goal is to be off of diabetes meds completely. my doc says if i keep going the way i am, it is achievable.

I started because all my friends were doing it. I hated it for the first six months, but just carried on anyway. I love it now. Couldn't imagine going without it.

Wow, that's awesome!!

Family predisposition to Type II Diabetes

I have always lifted but 4 years ago my entire family almost went the way of diabetes due to high carb lifestyle and a condition called hyper-insulimia. Out body producing too much insulin for even small carb portions. I started lowering carbs and found my sweet spot for where i operate well and don't have cravings and what not. So since then I went from just being a really thick (fat) power lifting looking guy or what I like to call the Bubba build, to a body builder type physique.

I got big built in high school sort of accidentaly when our wresting coach added in weight training and I responded to it. This was my sophmore year, and my intake of vagina increased by 8 billion percent the next year. Sort of hooked after that. Then I got hurt, fat and my wife left me after cheating on me, and I am just now back to where I can take my shirt off in public and be proud.

Started in 7th grade in gym class. I was naturally stronger than everyone else, and it was the first time in my life that I felt good at something without even trying.

I used to get stick of my mates for been a skinny rake, used to get nicknames like bones brother etc haha,

now most of them are even fat or gangly wearing unfitted clothes wear as i like going out in my tight tops and turning heads ;)

That was the reason i started out origionally but now i just do it cos i love it :)

Watching Arnie when I was a teenager got me inspired to get in the gym....Now, I go because I simply love it!
