What muscles are they? Are they part of your abs?

Anyone know how to get the V shaped muscles going form the top of you pelvis(the love handle area) down to the groin area. It seems when people are really buffed they have these muslces. What are they called and how do you work them? Are they part of your abs?
 
Yes, they're part of your abs, low body fat will bring them out more.
 
Woohoo, kewl, I have those! Or rather I should say, I can see them. Yes, they are part of your abdominals. Your rectus abdominis runs down to your groin as well as your obliquus internus abdominis muscles. So you would be referring to one of those. :)
 
I would not use heavy weights when training obliques, once they are overdeveloped you are stuck with them...
