Hello every one,

I would like to open up a discussion on the topic of Breakfast/lunch/supper and how much percentage wise should we be eating with the aim of keeping bodyfat to a minimum.

I was speaking to a Polish work colleague who says that supper should be very small, and should be taken 3hours before hitting the sack. He said breakfast should be the largest meal of the day with lunch being somewhere inbetween breakfast and supper size.

I asked him to explain why this was, and unfortunately as he is a Polish immigrant and his english is not so hot, he murmured something along the lines that there is sunlight in the day, and this creates vitamins and the body can process the food better with sunlight..?!?

I don't really understand what he was on about, I seem to remember that our bodies do absorb some vitamin through sunlight, but thats the extent of my knowledge...

All your own theories are welcome and any possible explanations on my Polish friends theories are also much appreciated.

regards
Roberto.

the reason he says is keep the last meal of the day small is because it is close to bedtime. i dont know :wtf: you are saying about the sunlight.

as far as 3 meals a day, no one here does that. if you want to lose fat eat a minimum of 5 meals a day with your calories spread out evenly in every meal and stop taking advice from the immigrant.

Breakfast Lunch and Supper? What's that?

Vit D through sunlight but I wouldn't count on that for vitamins.

Eatting a small meal right before bed is necessary for muscle building and repair.

If you want to keep bodyfat to a minimum, then you should eliminate the conventional 3 meals per day from your mind. You need to be eating more frequently, on the order of 5-7 meals per day. This will give a more even spread of nutrients throughout the day while simultaneously increasing your metabolism.

You say your friend is polish , and it was very hard to understand his murmering

Is your friend the Pope?

Thanks for the advice guys, yeah I thought the sunlight theory was suspect.. I will give the smaller meals 5/6 times a day a go for the next few months, perhaps that will help.
later
Rob;-)

That's weird because my Dad keep harping on about how he's in good shape and that three meals a day never hurt him and that if I eat six smaller meals it's going to play havoc with my gut and eating smaller meals isn't natural and eating three meals is. I understand where you guys are coming from but for some reason he can't
