What to do when sick?

Well since yesterday I've had some sort of virus, and amongst other things I've completely lost all appetite - the little food I did have was quite hard to down, and after it made my stomach a bit unsettled. :(
My problem: what can I do (eat) when this happens? My legs were sore from the workout the day before and I really felt I should be feeding them the protein they need to grow- but instead all I could eat was some toast - probably making my legs break down my other muscles to repair themselves. Would taking sugary things help? I mean, would it kinof prevent my body from breaking down my muscles?

Sometimes things like dry carbs are the only thing people can stomach when that sick. Nasty things like toast or dry crackers.

I'd mix up a diluted protein shake and try to sip on it if you can.
 
The hell with trying to force feed yourself. If you are going to puke it up anyway, why waste the nutrition? Just rest up and try to sip some cold water. Your legs will be just fine.

I had a nasty stomach virus a couple months ago. Two days of PURE HELL, I tell ya. When that happens, all you can do is lie down and let the virus run its course. I could barely keep water down. It sucked, man.
 
I had the stomach virus too a week ago. Best thing to do is after the "Violator" (pukin and diahrea) don't drink anything for 3-4 hrs and then start sipping water or better yet Gatorade (something that will bring electrolytes back up) and then work up to crackers (dry carbs like w8 said). Keopectate helped settle my stomach alot too, if you get a fever Nyquil worked great.

Forget about anything bodybuilding till you get back to 100%, that stuff is nasty.

I had to take about a week off from lifting after that. It took three days until my crap was finally solid again.

Yeah.. I was, hoping to do chest today but in the state I'm in I'd probably kill myself. :eek:
