Whats more important the Glycemic Index or Glycemic Load of a food? Because some foods like fruit have high GI but low glycemic loads and some foods like milk have low GIs but high Glycemic loads.

the glycemic load and insulin index are both more important than the GI. GI is a good tool to use however. easy to tell a high fiber carb from a low fiber carb just by the GI

is there some gl or insulin index list?

thank you

what about GL?

Mendosa's site lists the GL of 100's of foods.

Glycemicindex.com lists the GL as well

as for the insulin index....I've never see a list.

What would be considered an high insulin index food anything higher then 70?

I would not consider a 'cut off'... Sometimes a little insulin can be a good thing (eg: PWO) - especially if you are wanting to maintain low blood glucose levels.

Also, if you started to use it as a 'cut off' tool then you would have to exclude things like whey - which is highly insulinogenic...

So I don't think that healthy people should get too concerned over it - sure, use it in a similar fashion to the GI - as a guide... But don't get obsessive about it.
