Whey protien negitive effects

I've read nothing in terms of protein from whey being more harmful vs. any other. I have read studies that showed indications of increased stress on the liver and kidneys with excessive and prolonged exposure to large amounts of protein, as they are involved in the clearing of toxic byproducts of protein metabolism. That link doesn't even provide a loose reference to support its claims let alone a reference. And, ther is a ton of typos. I'd say they were phishing but all they seem to be pimping is a newsletter and some coupons?

Includes links for Soy Protein and HFCS on the site...seems unbiased to me. :coffee:

Just freaked me out cause I typed whey protein in Google and it tried to guess I was saying "whey protein dangers" so I figured I'd check. And yea I think ill be buying some whey from this site soon.

Whey Protein Dangers

Is any of this a real danger? I know the kidneys process protein but is whey any worse than other protein?
It depends on the source of the WHEY which is the cow producing the milk..I wouldnt take any Whey supplement thats not from a pasture-grazed, grass-fed cows, that is NOT treated with the synthetic bovine growth hormone rBGH. Alot of people think thats overboard but than again most ppl are stupid, and dont know d!ck about health

higher levels of protein intake are very beneficial unless you have kidney problems. more protein equals a higher metabolism and increased nitrogen levels.

Less of a problem if water intake equalized

I think consuming proteins should be accompanied with lots of water. I have heard people saying because metabolic waste is formed whenever one works out and consumes too much protein, to drain that away lots of water is necessary..I havent seen much of a problem with people following this regime

no it's bullshit....they are referencing finding in medical studies that show a high protein intake can cause leaching of bone mineral calcium. this is only an issue with the sedentary individual that also consumes a high protein intake in relation to his/her bodies actual protein requirements. it all has to do with the bodies nutritional demands vs the actual intake

The "dangers" are not true, if you exercise, drink plenty of water and fit the protein into your diet responsibly then you will likely be more healthy than without it. Buy a legitimate and trusted brand and you won't have to worry about whats in there. No need to worry about your protein :)

This thread... :shooter:

I haven't seen any studies taking about specific dangers... although a lot of the studies performed are tend to be sponsored by supplement manufacturers... so why would we see those kind of studies? (not suggesting there are dangers)

I do consume some whey protein, but attempt to get as much from foods (vs. supplements) as I can. But I probably consume less protein than most bodybuilders anyway.
