I did this secretly to settle a specific argument!

Someone said RHCP is lame and they never liked them..... and,
Someone said U2 is lame and they never liked them...

So I decided to find out what the masses say

RHCP win by a fucking landslide IMO.

U2 seems too focused on politics than good music.

I did sit next to Bono on an airplane from Paris to New York though.

It is hard to even compare the musicianship of the RHCP to U2 because the RHCP are so much better.

I disagree with thinking that most of their songs sound the same, because you must have not heard all their albums. I don't really want to agrue it though because it is completely subjective.

Im more of a U2 fan myself....simply because Ive heard more from them, and liked what I heard

I love both bans, but I would have to vote RHCP for the amount of enjoyment they have given me. I listen to scar tissue, and other said for about 3 years. Those songs were great.

i cant believe this is even a competition. look at longevity for one, u2 is in their 3rd decade. they have accomplished more musically. and as much as i like red hot chilli peppers, dave navarro was the best musician to play in the band and he was not even an original band member. u2 by a long shot. at least they have matured as a band and their stuff has evolved overtime. blood, sugar, sex, magic was bad ass in high school for me though

Red hot chili peppers for me cant stand U2....

The questions wasn't about longevity, it was about the band and its music. If we're looking at extraneous information, I'd have to look at which band was more full of itself, which would make U2 the loser of this poll.

True Story

U2 very well may be the most overrated band of all time. They do nothing exceptionally except sell records. I hate Bono, I hate their music, and I hate their name. RHCP all the way.

bands that suck are not that big for that long. longevity at a high level says something about talent muscically. what im talking about is selling out stadiums in 3 different decades, not longevity like how we see CCR revisited showing up to play at tiny ass little county fairs because things were over when their band mate died but they couldnt let go

It says nothing for their talent musically, because they have very little. What they do have a talent for is appealing to the masses. RHCP do not have a very "world-friendly" sound, they have complicated bass licks and guitar riffs not to mention a metal/funk fusion thats just not appealing to most. U2 on the otherhand does nothing special at all, and thats what the "world" is looking for. Something simple.

You think Dave Navarro was more talented than Flea?
I think John Frusciante was a better guitarist at 20 than Navarro was at whatever age he was when with the RHCP.

What do you mean by accomplished more musically?

I loath them as well. Like you, I can't say why, but I've detested them since I was a child.

U2 on the other hand, I just think are hilarious. Hack drummer, hack bass player, one-note guitar player and then there???s the singer. It???s basically music for people who???ve lost the will to fight.

The chameleons of pop, U2:

"Here's a band who cannot go out and play their early songs with a straight face. They can't go out and play 'Sunday Bloody Sunday,' because that was a different pose. That was when bubble-butt had the big white flag...Now shithead is wearing a gold lam??? suit, slicked-back hair and mirror shades, and he's coming at you from K-Mart... They are the Pat Boone, they are the Death Star, they are the death of music."
:hehe:
