fufu said:RHCP win by a fucking landslide IMO.
U2 seems too focused on politics than good music.
I did sit next to Bono on an airplane from Paris to New York though.
It is hard to even compare the musicianship of the RHCP to U2 because the RHCP are so much better.

bio-chem said:i cant believe this is even a competition. look at longevity for one, u2 is in their 3rd decade. they have accomplished more musically. and as much as i like red hot chilli peppers, dave navarro was the best musician to play in the band and he was not even an original band member. u2 by a long shot. at least they have matured as a band and their stuff has evolved overtime. blood, sugar, sex, magic was bad ass in high school for me though
bands that suck are not that big for that long. longevity at a high level says something about talent muscically. what im talking about is selling out stadiums in 3 different decades, not longevity like how we see CCR revisited showing up to play at tiny ass little county fairs because things were over when their band mate died but they couldnt let goDOMS said:The questions wasn't about longevity, it was about the band and its music. If we're looking at extraneous information, I'd have to look at which band was more full of itself, which would make U2 the loser of this poll.

I loath them as well. Like you, I can't say why, but I've detested them since I was a child.FatCatMC said:I don't know what it is, but I hate the Rolling Stones with a passion. Almost as much as I hate U2...![]()
HENRY ROLLINS said:U2 on the other hand, I just think are hilarious. Hack drummer, hack bass player, one-note guitar player and then there???s the singer. It???s basically music for people who???ve lost the will to fight.

The chameleons of pop, U2:
"Here's a band who cannot go out and play their early songs with a straight face. They can't go out and play 'Sunday Bloody Sunday,' because that was a different pose. That was when bubble-butt had the big white flag...Now shithead is wearing a gold lam??? suit, slicked-back hair and mirror shades, and he's coming at you from K-Mart... They are the Pat Boone, they are the Death Star, they are the death of music."
