Why It Matters: Education - YouTube

Education ranks as an important issue among voters, right up there with the economy. But schools and colleges are dogged with money problems, with both presidential candidates pledging fixes, the AP's Carole Feldman says. (Oct. 19)

well at least ALL of these problems with the US are easy to fix, all it takes is the stroke of a pen and some people to vote Aye...figure the odds of that happening

You lost me, LAM (as usual, you GD Big Brain!). What would fix all the problems? Explain it to me like I'm a 5-year-old.

sorry I was being facetious.

legislation directs the markets to a certain extent obviously having more effect in some sectors than others depending on the goods or services that are supplied, etc. then market principles take over from there. but the shift from a nation that saves with shared prosperity for the majority that lends to other country's to one that borrows and lives beyond it's means with global historically inequality is not reversible. it all basically started when Nixon took the USD completely fiat in '71 and then the debt and everything went down rapidly as the effect of the deregulation that occurred in the 80's.

Below is the graph from the St. Louis FED that shows the increase in debt but to appreciate the timeline you really have to look at the raw data. You can download an excel file here

* but in regards to education the best thing anybody entering higher education can do is to align themselves with an education in a market were your job can not be outsourced during the span of your work life.
