I haven't worked out in about.. 3 months. I managed to give myself some time in the morning till noon for me to rest, fool around, or do some homework. By 1 pm, I???ll be at work and go to some classes till late at night.

I am aware that working out at night is the best but in my case, isn???t going to work. Is it wise to do the same routine you'd be doing at night in the morning? Won't working out in the morning make me exhausted and make it hard for me to concentrate at work (I teach 5th/6th graders at a after school program)?

some advice please :P

My workout used to be

tri/chest
bi/shoulder
back/leg/cardio

with resting between days.

much thanks!

WO when you can. The time of day has some effect, and it has been suggested that the best time is in the AM. The key is to make sure you have 2 solid meals under your belt so you do not run out of steam during the WO. Your PWO shake will kick in and you should not feel "weak" or "exhausted". If you do, then your PWO shake and subsequent meal need to be addressed. As a side note, I would not do cardio on leg day. If you can, do it on your rest days. Back and legs on the same day may be a bit much as well.

Working out after I wake would be the best time for me. I can't do it... it's at best a 'forced effort', though I'm certainly strongest then. I parse my workouts (devide it through the day), kinda like a cat eats - but the "majority" is done after a long day's work... when my mind and body wants to do it. I'm not sure that's a bad approach.

Just avoid working out right after you get up your spine has some trouble dealing with loads and pressures. Ideally i think is 3+ hours after one wakes up.

I workout about 1 hour after waking. yeah it sucks I would just soon wait till later at night but right now with how work is theres really no way around it. Personally I like the push/legs/pull split.

Meaning
Chest/shoulders/tris
Legs
Back/Bis

Mon
Weds
Fri

same here. but i do it like this:
mon- push
tues-pull
wed- cardio
thurs- push
fri-pull
sat&sun- cardio
:)

just whatever you do make sure you have a few meals before you workout and havea PWO shake or meal.

Yeah but this fella is asking about trying to fit his workout in with his time constraints. I know being a father of 2 and working 60 plus (right now 80+) hours a week more than 3 days a week is nothing but a hassle. But as soon as I get this overtime overwith I am going back to a 4-day split. Just depends on your time.

I hate to break it to you, but that is not a push/legs/pull split.

on the push workouts i do this:
Squats
bench
dips
OH press

and on the pull i do this:

dead's
rows
wg pullups
chinups

but anyway i know what you were meaning.

I workout about 2 hrs after I wake up and have an MRS about a half hour before I start and I'm not any more tired b/c of it. I like getting it out of the way.

Well I would just soon wait till about mid to late afternoon, but like I said you got to do it when you have the time.
