Got myself thinking, what if I were to diet a week, each having one nutrient restricted respectively? Allow me to break it down: Something along the lines of
Week 1 - Carb Restriction
Week 2 - Fat Restriction
and whatever else you can think of.

Reading about leptin and refeeds as such got me thinking, what if I cycled between two different kinds of diets rapidy over short periods. As soon as Week 1 ends, and we're into eating a good amount of carbs and cutting back on eating fat which was eaten moderately on week 1, would this help "trick" the body into raising metabolism as soon as it wants to lower it? As soon as it realises that it's not getting enough carbs, it suddenly is and the fat that it was receiving well, is depleting gradaully, and as it catches onto that, it's suddenly has enough again.

Any comments, concerns?

What about simple calorie cycling? This is more or less around the same basis and might actually have a metabolic zig-zag, keep the body guessing; egde to it. If I can get one straight forward, somewhat factual answer, that would really help at the moment.

I think what you described in your first post would work. It's just doing a CKD and then a Higher Carb diet then back to a CKD. I think you could definately lose. It would be interesting to see how it works. If you decide to do it, let me know how it goes but IMO, it's do-able.

How many carbs and fat are you talking about and what will your foods be?
