i take NO shotgun half hour before I work out and then i take CellMass directly following my work out, with ON Whey protein and some L-glutamine mixed in about a half hour after the gym.

My goal is to gain mass and strength. My question is... Is CellMass the best for what i am looking for after my workouts or is there something better i should be taking.

I look foward to reading everyones opinions. Thanks in advance

All you need pwo is some whey protein perhaps with some dextrose if you choose. L-Glutamine is useless and that's about all your getting out the Cellmass as well. If your diet and training are in check you will gain size and mass.

there is no reason for cellmass to be a post workout sup. you need carbs and protein, cellmass doesnt provide either.

quality food like a good steak and some clean carbs or a solid protien or meal replacement like ALN's nitrean or maximus. Can't go wrong with either.. but anything is better than nothing when it comes down to it. Try to get that in at least an hour post work out and no later.

not sure I would agree here, you want protein that will get into your blood quick, not a steak right after your work-out. :)

Prince, my thought on this is that it depends on what his pre-workout nutrition is. If it's dialed in, steak and sweet potato is perfect. If it isn't, if you didn't pay attention to making sure you had an available pool of amino acids and glucose before you started lifting, you had better slam back protein and dextrose right quick, for damage-control. But if, like me, you prefer to chew your food rather than drink it (particularly important while cutting), so long as you've had protein and carb not too far ahead of your workout, solid food post works a charm.

now i am confused

Shouldn't i be taking a creatine supp. after working out? That is why i was taking CellMass. Is Cellmass a creatine supp? If not should i be taking creatine after working out and if so which supp do you recomend

Go with ON 100% whey if you prefer to drink your protein. I always prefer to eat whole food, so consider what Built said.

On this thought, one of the 'pre-made' diets on Will Brink's site has you mixing 40g of dextrose with a scoop of precision protein. Based on my [lack of] knowledge this seems like a heck of a lot of dextrose in one sitting. Do you guys think this much is necessary to get the insulin spike post workout?

If you're male, reasonably lean, weigh more than 120 lbs and have room in your calories, 40g post workout dextrose with 20g protein is a good mix - but if your pre-workout nutrition included carbs, you can cut down or even eschew the dextrose and whey in favour of say a steak and a sweet potato.

I usually take some Nitrean as I'm walking out the gym and then about an hour after my workout eat my steak or lately pork burgers and a sweet potato.

Since you already take Shotgun pre-workout you might want to look into taking VPX's new Synthesize immediately post workout to get some very fast acting proteins in, as well as a host of other muscle building nutrients.

Then, 30 minutes later you should follow this up with some whey protein (possibly combined with some casein), and a fast acting carb. You can go with something like Vitargo or Waxy Maize if it is in your budget, but if not, some white rice, rice cakes, or a white potato will do.

supps are all fake, just eat good and you are all set.

Well that is a false statement while eating good and training right are the most important factors by far some supps can really help in reaching your goals:thumb:

I just had to laugh at that person's comment. Thanks for giving an intelligent response!
