I am currently on a ketogenic diet. I find it very effective for burning body fat, and also keeping my gains, no problem. Research it, and you might find that it???s right for you when the next pre-contest diet begins! Ketogenic dieting defies scientific rationale, and there is still a great deal unknown about the long-term effects of low-carbohydrate dieting. But nonetheless, I'm still finding it effective.

Are there any diets that you're currently doing or would recommend?

Thanks in advance!

As a matter of fact, I just outlined my current cut plan here:

Graduated fat loss plan - from bulk, to cut, to ripped
Fat loss is a funny little beast.

When you???re VERY fat, your body will drop fat easily (honest!) as soon as you do ANTYHING that lowers calories and incorporates some sort of exercise.

Thing is, it doesn???t work the same way from start to finish.

This is the part where you???ll hear the rep-counters say things like ???you have to trick your body??? or ???confuse your muscles??? ??? when in fact your body will neither be tricked nor confused. It will simply respond to the stimulus provided. If YOU are tricked and confused by the nonsense these bozos try to sell you, you???ll spend a lot of money and work WAY too hard trying to get the results you seek. Don???t know about you, but I???m too cheap and lazy to spend money and effort for sub-par results that wear me out and starve me to death. (more???)

I am on the "I don't give a shit right now" diet. If my training is going to suck, my diet might as well, too.

But you don't sound at ALL bitter!

You sig is totally awesome Built

Smoking kills your gains amongst other things...

I'll definitely be following this. I've been stuck at the dreaded "last" 5-10lbs for a long time now. My diet really is spot on and I can adjust calories on demand at this point. As anathema as it seems, I get the feeling the missing component for me is cardio - it is literally one of the only things I haven't tried besides supplements/thermogenics.

After I'm off accutane in a few months I may give something like Leviathan Reloaded a shot for a few weeks and see how my body responds to it. I just don't see dropping calories anymore as being beneficial or safe since I'm already running on the low end around 1900-1950 calories on any given day which if I remember right is below even what you cut at.

BBers have been doing ketogenic diets for decades and a lot of them eat a healthy life. I would wager that the majority of those with health problems may be physically fit at a glance, however they have a poor diet that is ravaging their insides (read: fast food).

Maintenance for me is - or was, a few weeks ago - about 2250. I did PSMF on 1400 calories for 11 days, about to do a carbload and I'll go into the next stage of cutting at about 1900.

Fair enough. Still have to consider that I'm a 169lb male and you're a (guessing, don't kill me!) 125lb female.

I began my cut at 150.

I'll end it at about 127, in July.

Built at 150, nice and juicy. YOu need to send some pics!

I look the best I've ever looked before any cutting and I'm the biggest ever. I kinda hate to lose any right now. I really want to hold on to muscle this time around.

I'm bulking til after the super bowl! I'm on a see-food diet....insert corny old joke punchline here.

Yeah, I'm juicy alright. Damned legs are a spongy mess. Ugh.

The only part that really looks good on a me when I bulk is the part that looks the worst when I'm lean.

Dammit.

my diet is simple KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid!)

I've been on Builts' diet (use same principles, but not as spot on). I have seen unreal results, but I too am on those last 5-10 pounds, and have gone to the dark side (cardio- but cardio that Mrs. Built has posted on her blogs which is UNREAL!) It's only week 2, but things seem to be working out.

The body is full of shit though, these results will not last, I KNOW IT!

Half-clean bulk for the last month, moving to clean bulk soon...then just clean eating and extra work until summer to burn off 15 lbs to get my abs for the ladies :)

Good for you. I can't stand or even do cardio personally. I've never been able to do it, probably couldn't flat out run a mile if I wanted to. VO2 max is extremely shitty and my legs cramp up like a bitch.

That's the thing, I used think cardio= run, run, run. Obviously, I still stick with the HIIT sprint/jog, but now for my steady state cardio, I do not go for more than 30 minutes at a time (max 20 minutes post lift workout), but I also just do intense walking on an incline for my SS cardio.

For some reason, my hips are always so tight the day after cardio, and my range of motion is not so good with my squats. That's a downfall as well as not making the big gains with the weights.

Dude why not just lower the weight on the squats til youre at good depth? You know better!

I seldom go above 275 and my ass feels like a brick when I flex it. Are you doing fronts?

This is really good advice.
I dropped the weight by half recently and started going full
ass to heels and i'm tellin you it's a great stretch.
Feels wonderful deeply in my quads.
And I workout at the REC at my university, so if I can drop the weight
when there's all these meatheads running around trying to impress all the fine bitches, then so can you.

I do not do fronts, but I will drop weight and worry more about more range of motion and actually sitting with a back straight approach as well. I was going to do 9 sets of 3- with each set increasing weight but I will put it back up to 5-6 sets of 5 with increased weights.

i find going below parallel with back squats just doesn't feel right and puts way too much stress on my knees... i have no problem going ass to grass with front squats though...

Oh stop it with the spongy mess stuff. Besides being an animal in the gym you're hot ripped or bulked.
