this log is making me want to barbell bench. havent done it in a while, but Id be curious to see where I am compared to you. not 365 though lol
 
365 is just crazy.

My buddy just hit 345 on barbell but cant hit more than 105s on db. I can hit 130s on db but cant hit 315 on barbell. WTF
 
sounds like your buddy doesnt do enough db work, and you dont do enough barbell. never heard of someone hitting 345 on bb and not being able to use the 105s on db.

I just did the 120's for 8 yesterday, but not sure I could do 345 on barbell. plus, maxing doesnt do shit for you, unless youre doing a program based on percentages of your one rep max. Maxing out from time to time, maybe 2 times a year, is good just to know where youre at and to boost your ego a little
 
I never do barbell. Hate how it feels on the shoulders. Its also a pain to find a spotter when everyone around you is jumping on boxes doing that cross fit shit. I dont trust them to spot me. I also despise one rep maxes. If im not hitting a minimum of three reps ill drop the weight and shoot for 5.

Not saying I wouldnt want to try a 365 though. an occasional one rep isnt bad, but I see some people make that their whole workout. Chucks is GTG.
 
yeah, I stick to db's for all the same reasons.

i always hear that bro but i have been maxin out like almost every chest day for the last 5 yrs and my chest is def pretty big. but at the same time i dont just max out ill max out but also work my way down from the max or do negs...mix it up all the time...i just love going heavy and not count reps and shit cuz you body doesnt know rep but they know the time they are under tension so i usually go by that

idk i hate when ppl just go and bench to boost their ego. i just do it to tear up my chest...just what i have found that works for me :D

i guess any chance i get with a spot and if im feeling strong i see were im at with 1RM, i know its more a power lifter thing but i love that shit, iv never lifted light

i always incorporate it in to my work out. never just walk in for a 1RM, that would be lame:D

X2 DB i dont need anyones help if I dont want it! Never had DB stuck on me where i could not get up!! LOL
even DB i like the spot, just to help get them up the first time then im good to go and im a weight thrower so watch your toes lol....

pssst i got stuck under the smith machine bar doing flat bench lol. i couldn't even roll my wrists to lock it it just kept coming down, 3 plates on each side, THAT WAS EMBARRASSING, i just laid their till some one saw me

Don't use clamps and dump the weight off to the side

All this talk of DB bench and I realized I've not done it in years. YEARS. I do heavy flys but never press them. I'm happy with my chest development and happy with strength, but hell, it could always get better!
