help avoiding test e plateau

original plan:

weeks 1-12 test e 250mg 2x week (1ml each)

I've read several posts that mention a plateau around week 8 so I was wondering should I try something like this instead?:

weeks 1-6 250mg 2x week (500mg)
weeks 7-10 375mg 2x week (750mg)

OR

weeks 7-9 500mg 2x week (1000mg)

This would cut 2-3 weeks off of my original plan but I might get more out of nine or ten weeks without a plateau versus 12 weeks with little to no progress after week 8.

I am starting week 5 of this today so I have 2 weeks still to decide on the best course of action.

Additionally, I am thinking the shorter cycle may be beneficial from a recovery standpoint since this is my first AAS cycle ever.

increases so far (with dbol kicker that ended yesterday):

flat bb bench press: increase from 280x5 to 320x5
shoulder bb press: 210x5 to 250x5
deadlifts: 300x5 to 330x5
squats: 500x8 to 500x8 (not really focusing on improving this, just maintaining)

weight: 245 up to 255

Thinking about using remaining cycle to cut bf% slightly while focusing less on strength increase since strength goals have been reached. I still want to increase enough that I can solidify these gains through PCT but I think I can do that without adding a whole lot more mass.
 
Either bump to 750mg/wk around week 7, add an oral into the mix, or both.

Thanks, I'm all out of orals so I will just bump it to 750 as directed. For future reference I will keep this in mind so I have enough for a full twelve weeks and maybe get some more dbol to add it back in at the end.
 
heavy iron done a sticky here about increasing the gear up on a first cycle give that read bro.

I think it's mentioned in heavyiron's sticky on "first test cycles" and it's been dicussed tangentially in some other threads here in the anabolic section in the last few weeks.

Yes, what happens is your Myostatin levels (A protein that inhibits muscle growth) slowly build over the course of a cycle. By week 8-9 they are high enough to inhibit gains if more AAS or a myostatin inhibitor aren't employed. I will try to find the write up that Heavy posted with a study to this effect.

Wow, thanks! That's really useful. I guess 7 weeks then should be a great cycle length if you don't want to change your dosages.

I would still go at least 10 weeks just because in my mind that kind of helps to solidify your gains...you may not progress much in that extra 3 weeks but more time at a given weight might help keep from losing as much in PCT and beyond. That may be entirely off base but I BELIEVE it so it kind of makes it work whether it's true or not.

Conversely, upping the dose might make it possible to gain still more which means you may lose progress more quickly but still end up staying ahead of where you were at the 7 week mark. These are just my opinions and may have no scientific backing but I know I was able to keep all my gains from my last PH cycle and I did the last 4 weeks with virtually no gains.

I would switch to test prop in week 6, run 150mg EOD, do this for 3 weeks ( so a 9 week cycle in total) and then start PCT.
