Police in Honolulu say six tiny fingers that were found in a trash bin behind an apartment complex are likely from a girl who is 2 1/2 to 4 years old. Police say there have been no reports of missing children in that area. (March 13)

This is the type of shit that makes me not want to watch the news. I mean no its wonder why we anxious about letting our kids out of our sites. I'm sure this stuff has been going on since the cavemen, I'm just not sure I want to know about it.

I would like to see more vigilante justice, but let's face it. We're a bunch if pussies.

Fuck that. People who hurt kids need to get their shit fucked up. :paddle:

I have know way to know for sure but IMO I think this crap is getting worse all the time. Not just "more" reporting.

I think it has a lot to do with all the "slaps on the hand" from the courts and lack of concern by most people too caught up in something else (like day time TV or where to go this afternoon for the best entertainment) to worry about children. Sick people think more and more that they will not get caught and even if they do, they will go to a cushy little cell protected from other inmates for a little while then get let out again to do it all over again.

Let's try something intelligent. Okay maybe asking too much but just the same. Let give them life or death, their choice. Life in prison isolated from everything, other inmates, news papers, tv, no contact with anyone but the guards OR life in prison in gen pop, the best death penalty IMO for these lower forms of life. Not fast, humane or painless. Lets see if that may just slow down this crap.

NONONONO I agree. I just dont think I want my news to be full of this. I have a little toddler girl and everytime I hear something like this my grip on her becomes a little tighter. I dont want to be the overbearing parent but wiht new like this... im heading that way.

This society is fucked. Shit gets crazier every day, so parents want to put a tighter grip on their kids, which just leads to rebellion, and more danger. FML.

I quit watching televised news in the late 80's but I'm sure it hasn't changed much since. it was always a bummer lots of bad news and a couple of short feel-good pieces.

a lot of these things have always happened but with with technology, etc. more of these events are relayed to the general public much faster and across more networks.

most people that commit murder it was there first time and you can't stop events like that because people just snap or whatever. there's also something like 35-40 active serial killers in the US at all times and most of them never get caught until later on in their "careers".

thanks -I feel much better now. :nail:

most serial killers are cowards and the ones that prey on women always go after the petite ones as they are easy to control and/or subdue.

I have not studied them much, being a large black man once I found that out I quit reading up on them..lol

You quit reading about serial killers after you found out you're a large black man?

First I heard of it, but with the Crystal meth epidemic out here shit keeps getting worse.... I'm hoping to hear that it was an accident, they took the little child to the hospital and they couldn't save the fingers, but the parents wanted to keep them then decided against it...

someone found them while rummaging for bottles. they had them a while before turning them over to police. they were "preserved" in a ziploc...

Small child

The grisly discovery of a child’s six fingers in a trash bin at a Honolulu housing complex has left residents bewildered.
“We’re still a little bit in shock, wondering what the back story is,” said Kevin Carney, Hawaii vice president for EAH Housing, the San Rafael, Calif.-based company that manages the affordable rentals.
Residents of the 389-unit Kukui Gardens complex near downtown Honolulu and Chinatown are abuzz about the find, which came to light when police asked the public for help this week, Carney said.
“No one can really imagine this happening in this neighborhood, in their backyard,” he said. “Everyone’s anxious for more details.”
For Gina Rose Vendegna, the horror of finding six tiny fingers in the trash bin while rummaging for bottles and cans to recycle didn’t sink in until a day after she turned the plastic bag over to Honolulu police.
“Then I broke down thinking about the child,” the mother of five told KHON-TV.
The fingers, which Vendegna found last month, are likely from a girl who is 2 1/2 to 4 years old, Honolulu police said.
The complex features 20 buildings on about 10 acres dotted with palm trees. While the complex is in an urban neighborhood, there is little crime, Carney said.
There have been no reports of missing children, he said. Police have interviewed area residents and checked missing reports, but have no leads.
Police have made public pleas for clues, but as of Tuesday no one had called in, CrimeStoppers Sgt. Kim Buffett said.
“The hard part is you can’t determine the age of it, whether it’s new or old,” Buffett said. “It can be a child from back then. We really don’t know.”
Vendegna, who found the fingers, is not a suspect in the case, police said.
She recalled combing through the trash looking for bottles and cans to recycle when she came across what at first she thought was dried ginger root.
Later at her home near the complex, she took the bag out of her purse.
“I was drinking soda, and I knew for a fact those were fingers when I seen the fingernails,” she said. “They were preserved in a Ziploc bag.”
The woman said there was no foul odor. People she showed them to told her they were monkey fingers. She turned the bag over to police, and laboratory testing confirmed recently that the fingers belong to a child.

“Normally when you find body parts, you find the rest of the body,” Buffett said. “It’s rare to find fingers. Why just the fingers and why the way it was found?”

these things are just one of the worst things that can happen. Now it seems like the media will scare everyone so much that being social is highly limited.
It is statistically safer now than it was 20 years ago but people are more scared then they have ever been.

Things like this just really screw the world up.. I am for capital punishment as a deterrent to these types of things. Makes it a lot safer when they are gone.

Honolulu: Plastic bag found with child’s fingers

The remains were originally believed to be that of an animal’s since they were found skeletonized, until lab testing confirmed that the severed fingers belonged to a child.
Kevin Carney, VP Hawaii EAH Housing cautioned the public not to jump to any conclusions, “This could be something very, very horrible that happened fairly recently or it could be something that happened 100 or more years ago.”

Carbon dating? Did they have ziplocks 100 yrs ago? (I asked rhetorically)

This place is near Chinatown, it could be some perverse ancient chinese remedy for something, maybe fingers chopped off of the hands of a baby girl in China before they murdered her because she was unwanted, those sick fucks!

i remember when learning about the witch hunts we were told that people would sell a talisman box to ward off the evil of witches and it would contain the finger bone of a small child. if you didn't buy it you were suspected of being a witch. also when they serve a search warrent on suspected satanic cults finger bones are one of the items listed to look for. yes the chinese are sick but they are not alone.

Ransom demand gone wrong. Asians involved. Could be some brothel worker fled for her life and they used the child to retaliate or to extort the worker back. Who knows.

Serial killers always prey on people that they are attracted to. Bundy preyed on young women, Gacey and Dhamer preyed on young men, pedophile killers prey on children that they are attracted to, etc. There's almost always a sexual component to it and they quite often keep "trophies" of their killings, like fingers or personal property of their victims. IDK where the Chinese connection comes in here. :hmmm:I'd say most likely it was the work of a serial killer years ago. He may already be in prison on an unrelated offense or dead.

You made the leap to serial killer and trophies somehow. Why would he give up his trophy to a trash bin?
