In my world, it's a hypothetical math problem and if it says they drown, they drown. If it says they turn into spaceships or start a business, that's what happens. In this problem the number of fish is a given(10) and nowhere else in the problem is the variable 'fish' altered, there's no delta T, nowhere is the fish variable stored into another variable in which we are solving for. The characteristics of some fish are qualified but the quantity does not change. It says five drown and 3 comeback to life... 5 what drown?... 5 fish. They don't cease to be fish once dead or resurrected according to how this problem is written nor does it state you gain or lose possession of any fish. It states you have 10 fish, then ask how many fish you have. So the answer is 10 because that's the information we are given and asked for.

I need a vacation. School is totally brainwashing me.

What if the fish went to the bottom of the water where the dissolved oxygen content wasn't high enough? Would they drown then? Or what that be suffocation? Suck on that one!
