It wasn't because of the kid. It's because they were in a black neighborhood.
This this and all of this. He didn't school anyone. Nothing he said made sense or mattered worth shit. It was all about the camera. Of course the cops were worried about the camera. If it's on film any little thing can get blown up in the court of opinion. they should have waited till his battery ran out then beat his worthless ass.

Oh, you're right, it is an assumption. Simply based on the the fact the guy taping it is black and that there are several police officers there.
Looking at the neighborhood, I concede that I could be wrong.
He said in the video that he sees "european" kids walking around so i'm guessing it's not all black.
Ignorant or not, he did get his son back which is what he meant to do and some of the stuff he said i know to be true (not sure about other).
You have to identify yourself under the law, if you do not you are not acting under the law and anything you do you are doing as jim bob not officer jim bob. The reason they didn't want to identify themselves is most likely because they weren't sure weather what they were doing was lawful or not.

they couldn't have, he would have attempted to get his son out before that would have happened and they couldn't have stopped him. The police is in no way allowed to interview a child without a guardian present, no sir.

And there's no amount of pseudo-intellectual diarrhea that the moron could spew out that would've stopped those cops from taking his kid if they cops had felt they had a reason to. Most times when a kid that young does something wrong enough to involves the police, the kids gets a warning and let go.

Almost all of what he said did not make sense. But I admire his resolve, especially around the 4:00 minute mark. The cops were trying to intimidate him to get him to leave, but he stood his ground. He was not arrested or harmed. Unfortunately, if that camera were off, I fear he would have been. Many cops believe that they can do whatever they want, and it's so easy for an officer to make up a false justification for arresting this guy.

Annoyed, sure. The guy was an ass. Who knows what his kid did, but knowing kids, he probably did something minor and stupid.
My oldest son was 11 when he got together with another boy and threw rocks and some construction vehicles. No damage was done, but the owners called the police. The brought my son home in a cruiser and explained it nicely to me. I let them impress upon my son that what he did was wrong. They let him go. We shook hands. My son has never done anything like that again.
Oh, yeah, they guy did so much better. Instead of a basic lesson about right and wrong, the kid has learned to cry "racism" whenever someone does something that he doesn't like.
He didn't outsmart shit. However, even if he did, I supposed that, statically speaking, it was due. Crazier shit happens.

They gave his son back. Not sure anything he said accelerated that process.
That and the natural reluctance that many have when they're told what to do.
I haven't researched any of his statements, but I'll assume they're all true. At the same time, however, you can throw out the whole "and they couldn't have stopped him" idea. They could have wrestled him to the ground, tased him, and/or shot him. Would it have been legal? Would they have been cleared of any wrongdoing? I don't know.
I've read plenty of articles where officers receive a justified shooting whatever after having shot an apparently innocent/unarmed individual.
The father, justifiably outraged, was making what many would interpret as inflammatory comments. He was treating the officers disrespectfully (also justified, imo). He was being aggressive. He's lucky there were female (chauvinist that I am, it seems reasonable to say woman are more level-headed) officers present or he might have seen a totally different outcome.

He said his piece, but I wouldn't say he owned them at all. He was fortunate they were a) possibly puzzled or unsure that they had a leg to stand on and b) that his son apparently gave the right answers to the officer interviewing him in the back of the cop car.
I do hope that the father gets some resolution or verification from the brass. An explanation that suits him and allows both sides to save some face.
And while I wouldn't call anyone here racist, I do wish words like nigga (in a pejorative sense) and monkey would be relegated to Anything Goes.

He was "harmed" in that the officers deprived him of his child. It seemed like there was a question of custody. Did the father or the man videotaping have any papers to show or prove that the child was his child? Because, though I heard his words, I never saw any birth certificates or custody paperwork.
And X2 on the officers being able to justify just about anything.
I have no clue what was going on.
But I don't know if I'd call the officers fearful. They would have had a right to be anxious. One or more was probably just waiting for the beating to begin. There was more than one male officer there and that's who I would have expected to jump first, sorry.
The father or the man filming the events pointed at the one officer, if I'm not mistaken. That could have been defined as a threat and then -- right or wrong, legal or not -- game over.

I can't condone his condescending attitude toward the cops, when I got arrested for racing my dirt bike on a public road my father was polite to the cops to get me and my Colombian friend released. Of course my father was mad at the cops cause it was an abandoned subdivision with closed roads and no reason for them to hassle us, but he played it cool and told the cops he would punish me and tell Gian's parents, but when we got home he told us to have a lookout next time cause the grass was tall enough to give us time to lay our bikes in the weeds and act like we were playing football or something.....
