I thought I would share what I've been doing and would like to compare notes with some of the older guys. Ok I've used AAS on and off since the mid 80s. I'm 49. I took a long break from my mid 30s to mid 40s. Now my use is more like modified TRT most of the time. I am legitimately on TRT or am suppose to be so so to speak. I don't do heavy cycles anymore. The sides are worse than they use to be when I was younger. I don't mess much with real heavy oral androgens or trenbolones either. Any of you older guys use Primobolan or 1-test cypionate? I'm going to give 1-T-cyp a go this coming summer I think.
I have used the following over the past 3 years:
Equipoise: mild but RBCs get high
NPP: great compound for older me
Masteron: great full fullness, feeling of well being and sex drive
Test C: great base
Test E: great base
Sustanon: greatest base can use more than other 2
Winstrol: great hardener and use with nolva stops joint issues
Anavar: mild but zero sides
GHRP-6: great but requires some personal experimentation. DATs stuff didn't work for me. Found my own way that works.
GHRP-2: same as above
GRF1-29: jury still out on this
hCG: a must, helps keep steroid hormones balanced
hGH: fun ride but don't like the CTS
letrozol: strong AI but dialed in with blood work
exemastane: jury still out on this
Tamoxifen: helps offset winstrol induced joint pain.
Clomephene: good for watching chick flicks and making tennis balls
Generally what I do is a long blast and cruise where the blasts are pretty mild. This usually lasts 9 months or so. After that I do a clean out for a few months and just deal with hypogonadism. During that time I generally do more athletics like grappling, running, drills, sprints, hills and lighter weights. After 9 months of AAS etc my joints are beat up. I find that 3-4 months off helps bring the joints back to health.
A few things to watch as we get older are red cells, hypertension and heart rate. Red cells, hemoglobin and hematocrit tend to get really high in middle age men on AAS so you older guys should watch it if you don't already. I donate blood every 8-16 weeks. That helps with BP and heart rate as well.
My doses have slide down the past couple of years. At 45 I was using 1.5 grams of AAS and maybe as high as 2 grams. I've slid down to no more than 800 mg total now.
My typical cycle might be something like this:
1-8 Test C 300 mg/w
1-8 Equipoise 400-500 mg/w
8-14 Test C 200 mg
15-22 Test E 300 mg/w
15-22 NPP 300-500 mg/w
23-26 Test C 200 mg/w
27-36 Test E 300 mg/w
27-36 Equipoise or Masteron 300-400 mg/w
31-36 Winstrol/Anavar mix 50-70 mg/d
37-52 taper, some PCT drugs and off
AI used throughout. GHRPs and GRF peptides used throughout with occational 2-4 week breaks. Somtimes I will not use orals at all and just stick with test and one inj anabolic. What are you older guys doing?
