as crazy as this might sound, I dont go over 135 for barbell rows. I dont remember if I already said this or not, but Lee Haney talked about how the best backs in the game like his, Ronnies, and Heaths, all did barbell rows. Haney also said he never went over 225 on rows, and usually stuck around 185. If Mr. O is doing 185 for reps and has a killer back, I sure as hell dont need to be doing 225 or more.

Ive never seen anyone use 250 or more with good, no momentum form.

^^ Good point bro!! Form is key before you put the weight on.. if that lacks your just setting urself up for a fucked up back imo

Anyway just passing through...

I just dont understand seeing people trying to row 315 for reps. thats some shit ronnie did and he was one big ass mofo. not weight for a normal gym rat.

ha ha who ever rows 315 for reps on BB rows is a faggot. They must have zero back and there lat spread must be shitty. It's impossible to have good form and lift heavy weight. No one can do it! Impossible!
hahahahaahah

btw Ronnie was rowing near 500 lbs for 10 reps weeks out for the Mr.O on many occasions

Id challenge anyone to show me a video of them doing strict form with 315 on rows.
again, strict, no jerking, proper body form, etc. upperbody and legs completely still

I agree that would be very hard to due for the average gym rat.

BTW, when I usually do my workouts I do pyramids throughout. Meaning, I start with a moderate weight and move up. Usually I try and end the set with a really heavy weight (for me, because weight is relative) and see how many reps I can get. At the end of a couple months I usually can do that previous heavy set with much better form and more reps.

I also think it's hard to gain muscle for some people by just lifting 'light weight'
IMO BB rowing 225 for reps with perfect form is not that hard. Personally, if I stuck to 135 for bb rows I would not feel anything, might as well just skip the exercise in general.

Maybe we should all try and put some in the gym videos up so we can see each others own styles of lifting.

(sorry, I didn't mean to high jack your thread)

Keep killing it bigben!

heres a couple 315 rows...

great form by this guy, definitely didnt end up standing almost straight up and shrugging it....\/\/\/
YouTube Video

this dude is a tank \/\/\/\/ but Ill be damned if he could do 2 reps with strict form
YouTube Video

Im not insane of form, but I really dont see the point in using momentum. momentum does shit for you physique. getting quality contractions are key.

I also dont give a fuck about how someone looks. If I can find the video, theres this dude whos a big mama jama he does the dumbest fucking one handed rows Ive ever seen. drugs and genetics play a big part in what people look like. some people can bulid good physiques with crappy form, especially while using drugs.

thats obviously not you, as you just started your first cycle. Im just sayin..

I dont know. this place is f'ing dead. we need to spice it up a little.

If anyone from the Uncle Z team comes down to MIA, FL to take a little vacation lmk. Maybe we can get a lift in ha ha

you should have a comp with them. if you win, you get more gear.

btw, any update on the status of your order with another one of the board sponsors? the one that people have been waiting 4 months for? lol

May holla sooner or later... my girls from deerfield we go see her parents around Christmas.. kinda close

what up big ben looking good bro......been away for a while but back...need to catch up on every thing...lol

in my opinion...with back you dont have to be so strict. i feel that over time you develop your own way of performing the lift that works for you. i know i dont have the best form but it works for me and it is strict enough to where i will not get hurt.

i mean i think my back is pretty big ;)
