i watched the 2010 worlds strongest man contest for just a bit yesterday, and noticed a few of the competitors looked pretty built and ripped vs how they looked a dozen years ago.
they are all the strongest in the world, but some seem to lack the big fat guy look from years past. different training? just a different athlete?
also, a bud of mine told me about lou ferrgino in a car commercial and commented on how small his arms are and how small in general he looks. i know he's 59 but i finally seen the commercial and was amazed at how he looked.. he looked like the salesman in that commercial and not the former mr usa and mr world and mr whatever elses he was.. in interviews he said he still trains hard... would it be the lack of drugs that make him look like an average guy now, or lack of the intense way he may not be training now?
for me, whatever the age, i would hate to look like he did, and look like he currently does.. i know you slow down with age and he no longer competes, but there are guys at my gym at 60 that look way better than he does, and all they do is train hard 4 days a week... wonder if its the lack of the drugs they all took that gives them just an average look now??
lots of the bodybuilders now look terrible. seen zane? arnold..they all said in interviews they still train.. ken waller looks bad too..wonder why these former mr worlds all look like a normal gym rat now? some guys at their age looks like they never aged and still could compete, even at 60..
injuries, laziness, lack of drugs? wonder why all these top stars look so normal now, when some of the older top stars still look the same?
