Does anyoen have a clear answer? I am trying to cut now, and eat lots of carbs (well same as my protein) and minimal fat. Is that good for a cut? Or are carbs what I need to drop and increase my fat intake? I'm pretty confused with all these conflicting opinions. Is there anyone with facts! Does lots of protein/carbs and low fat work for a cutting diet? Or no? Will I actually get fat from good carbs?

depends on the types of carbs that you are eating. processed carbs are terrible but even more so when trying to cut. I would also never go less than 20% fats in your diet. low fat diets = low test production

I eat 20% fat. As far as carbs go, mostly it's natural. Fruits, veggies, pastas (home made) and oatmeal. Are those good choices?

If you're cutting, oatmeal and veggies are good.

Pasta (calorically dense and not really all that nutritive) and fruit (primarily fructose) I would try to limit.

Apples are a good fruit choice when cutting. They are higher in fiber and much less caloric dense. Just dont eat fruit all day.

Well I do eat it everyday... Like a pear or a mango or something daily. Honestly, if I can get fat from eating fruit, then that's just ridiculous lol.

From what I've heard, fruit and veggies will never get you fat, in a million years. Not sure whether or not that's fiction, but for now I believe it.

It is near impossible to eat too many vegetables... But ANYTHING can get you fat if you try REALLY hard at it! ;) So if you eat enough of it, fruit (eaten over your calorie requirement) in combination with very little protein and no EFA will cause your body to suffer.

But 2 servings of fruit a day is a good thing and can help with weight loss. It is high in water, fibre, vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and relatively low in calories. The fructose levels are not that high (from 2-7g in most servings of fruit) and this can also be of benefit in terms of signalling a 'fed' state to your brain, helping to prevent the metabolic concequences of dieting.

Many people get too scared of fruit when you really do not need to be - you would have to eat >10 banana's a day before you started to get any negative effects.
