any opinions on this?

if i do chest in the am, do you think doing delts at night would overwork my front delts..
i just met jay cutler and am super motivated to go lift...but i lifted before i met him lol think its ok to delts? overtraining? eeh?

I trained 2x a day for years with no complaints. IMO one of the main benefits of training 2x a day is that you don't have to "save" anything in regards to energy, etc. you can go balls to the wall in the am get a couple of good meals in you during the day then go back to the gym in the pm.

remember that over-training/over-reaching occurs over a long period of time as the result of the CNS not being allowed to fully recover. eventually the CNS can not convey messages efficiently to skeletal muscle to tell it to contract forcefully. that being the case the first sign of over-training would be a decrease/loss of functional strength or performance in sport(s).

chest/shoulders is a very common muscle combination which seems to work well with most. you have to remember that the different muscles heads move the upper arm in various planes. check out the site below to lean the different movements and see how they may or may not be effected by your choices of exercises for chest.
