I need help being able to do chinups

I cant even accomplish to do one.....Any other exercies im fun and average its just for some reason I cant to chin ups my arms arent strong enough for my body weight....

Does anyone have any suggestions on helping to be able to do chinups like anything specific

Seriously, the best way to learn to do chinups is to do chinups.

In your workouts, possibly really focus on your rowing and pulling overall, and just keep trying. If you wanted you could try some negatives - stand on something so you start the lift in the "pulled up" position, and lower yourself down as slowly as possible.

These are pretty stressful so dont add them in all the time or you might burn out quicker than youd like.

You could also add Supine Rows to your pulling sessions, theyre a great movement that might help building up to proper pullups.

Some gyms have that assisted pullup machine aswell.

Thanks I'll give it a try I know I will be able to do them eventually but I want to eventually be able to do them weighted and such but yeah being able to do 1 :P I would gotta start somewhere..

My old gym has an assisted pullup machine but because I go at 3-4am now I had to go to a 24 hour a day gym that doesnt have the assisted pull up machine

jump up there and do negatives. When can do some chinups don't do half reps, go all the way down.

i really struggled with them until i started doing weighted chin ups / pull ups. they really help you out. same deal with doing dips you get better at them if you do them weighted. just keep at it. try them with weights and sooner than later you will increase your reps for sure. also use variation. (narrow/wide grips, negatives).

He can't do one chin-up at body weight. How are weighted chin-ups going to help him?

Do you have a pull/chin-up assist station at your gym? If so, use it. Follow Gaz's advice and you should be doing reps in no time.

Thanks yeah I did negative chin ups at the gym today...Its just in my youth I always worked out my core/legs for the sports I was in rather then my upperbody so my chin ups never have been very good....

I know I'll get it eventually, thanks again guys

I always found the balance (if you'd call it that) harder than the actual 'pulling myself up' part. Damn, I used to swing about like a fucking gibbon.

It must be the ghost of your gym past who trains at my gym! Every single guy seems to swing around in some sort of half-cocked kip chin-up movement thinking they're fantastic because they can do 20 repetitions before getting dizzy from all of the excitement.
