What do you do in the case of missing a meal (busy) when on cut?

Just resume reg. program the next day?? Or will it screw everything up?

Nothing you can do... just dont let it happen again. Worst thing you can do is to miss a meal.

Keep a detour in your bag... "just in case". But don't use that as an excuse to eat detours all the time... strive to keep your diet strict.

I can eat a Detour on a CUT in emergency??

:)

Great! I have some MetRx High protein bars (only 2 carbs) maybe I could throw in my car...but I forgot them too... :(

If you miss a meal don't sweat it, it happen to everyone at one point or another. Just make sure you are better prepared tomorrow. I am not a big fan of eating the bars if I am in an emergency on a cut. Actually when I would find myself in a jam while cutting I would just find a small drug store and get some nuts and an apple........probably just as bad as the MRP bar though. lol

Yeah, the bars really arent good for you on a cut - and judging from your reaction, Bladezz, you seem a little too eager to eat them!

Eating a detour is ok if there's absolutely no other way of getting food in you. Something along the lines of one a month, maybe?

There are plenty of ways to carry around a healthier snack... a waterbottle with a protein shake is probably one of the easiest.

Exactly what I would do too...nuts and an apple.

And better than keeping a bar in your bag...keep a container w/ a srving of protein in it, and a bag of nuts....fat and protein and you're good to go.

hey, thats a good idea. hadnt even thought of that.

I just heard so much about the Detour Bar and the Uturn wondering how they taste...that's all :)

You're right- I stay away from bars :) I don't like to eat them regularly but if I am in a bind that's a bad idea too? - like a METRx Protein Plus bar?

So, like a bag of peanuts and protein mix dry and leave it in my car? Shovel it in my mouth dry take a swig of water and eat the peanuts and I am set?? Yuk....not too appealing but I'll do it if I have too.

I really dont think it will happen again but i want to be prepared in case it does...

Thanx for the suggestions!

P.S. the MetRx bars are no good then? I actually feed them to my daughter for lunch/miday snack 4 school, she is a vegan...any input? She likes the Chocolate Fudge "Protein Plus" one.

Don't forget w8's favorite ...'Eggs in a Carton" :yuko: :finger:

Unless the child is over twelve and/or at least 100 or more pounds...a Protein Plus bar is too much protein, consider half :D

From what i hear the makers of Detour are getting sued because the nutritional breakdown is way off. The carbs are too low and the protein is too high. Thats what i heard though.

If you havent tried the detour and you are on a cut i would suggest not trying it until after your cut is done. You may become addicted and they are not diet material. Just a suggestion. I cant resist them if i see them so i make a point of not going near them. Ummmm detour in only 52 days. LOL.

Great, thanks DP. My daughter is 13 so I just want her to get the protein intake she requires, because she slacks on eating it (shakes).

Like I mentioned, I really don't eat bars. I was told to stick to real food so that is what I am doing - although I DID NOT know that bars were bad for me on cut so, thanx for that info!

:)

I don't think you should be worried about a 13yr. olds protein intake. Just help her in making proper food choices. Educate her in why eating healthy and why balanced meals are important and the rest will fall into place as she gets older. I wouldn't worry about making sure that she is getting a specific amount of protein at her age, just prepare her some balanced meals.

One question if your daughter is a vegan then she doesn't eat any animal foods right.Well i'm willing to bet your protein bar has milk proteins in it.

Thanx guys. There are actually "categories" now. Not the "true" sense of vegan that I was aware of. She is the one type that allows for eggs and milk in her diet, just no meat "Lacto Ovo Vegetarian".

So yes, I have to make sure she does get her protein in her meals otherwise she would just eat carbs!

She has lost quite a bit of weight over the past year and I just want to make sure that's all, the kids really do eat alot of crap.

I try to sneak it in with peanut butter, yogurt, nuts and cheeses in her lunch. So a bar would be a good choice for her on the go to snack on.

Thanx again!
