I didn't go to college but now I wish I did. You should definitely give it a shot atleast. Its much harder to go once youre older.

Never too late to go back! My brother graduated from APP State in 91 and he is going back for his Masters this year. Him and his wife have their own medical practice in Tulsa and he is going back for his masters in Business (From Information Technology). I think they will eventually sell and work for others.

I know, I actually got accepted to the Regis University Masters program a couple of years and took one class. It's not that college is hard for me, it's just hard when you have a full-time job, a family, a side business, etc. Plus now that I am older I am not in that "college mode". It's similar to working out your brain gets out of shape so to speak.

In my experience, most people could get mostly As if they just work for it. I got straight As and I'm a friggin exchange student To tell you the truth it didn't take all that much effort on my part, I still had time to work out twice a day and party it up every now and then. If your decently smart and not being stupid about your classes you'll make it Go for it man, you'll regret it if you don't!

If you're unsure about college you can always take a year off and work, and/or start out at a community college part time, then you can tranfer your credits to a university later on.

That's funny, I found the opposite. I was more able to focus on studying because my priorities weren't partying and meeting girls (funny how that works) it was class, homework and work in that order. I worked three part time jobs although I know that's not as tough as family it was hard, but it certainly worked well teaching me time management.

OK, I'll say it. All I've got is two Associates Degrees and, despite what's already been said, they aren't worth the paper they're printed on. If it's not a B.S. or above, it may as well not exist. Am I successful? Yeah, I think so. I've got a VERY well paying job with the most successful company in it's field and I'm on the same corporate level as people with Masters Degrees and even a couple PhD's. Now, for the rest of the story. The only reason I'm here is because I've got almost 23 years of experience in my field from my Air Force service. So, you've got a choice, go to four or five years of college or do a couple of decades of military service to gain experience. On a side note: studies show that over a person's working lifetime someone with a bachelors degree will make, on average, about a million dollars more than someone without that piece of paper. In case you're wondering, I'm going back to get my Bachelors. The short term investment will payoff BIG TIME in the long run.

it is not uncommon for a branch manager with about 20-30 loan officers under him to make 400-500k a year. they get a percentage of every loan closed by each loan officers plus they also originate their own loans.

stop looking for the easy way out. if you want a trade then go find a union and do the aprenticeship program, like an electrician or something. you will make decent money and you will learn a skill. however the guy who spends the time in college, even if he gets 20,000 in debt doing it, is going to have a career path that will pay him more in the long run.

depends on your definition of good pay. these days all of the high paying labor jobs are all union. here in Vegas all of the skilled labor intense jobs are union and all of the unskilled labor works seems to be performed by mostly Mexicans and Dominicans.

If you enlist to the armed forces without a degree you'll make less than 20k per year! Hardly good money!

I'm 18 now and done with high school. Everybody say "Go to college youll love it!" But most people I know drop out or was not smart enough and ended up wasting a lot of money. So I guess my question is, can u have success in life and not go to college?

College can help you. But you should never go just to go. It should be because you want to and want to learn about the areas you are interested in and making yourself a much better person and that what you learn will help others. And that you do that.

Much depends on each individual and their "success" as to who they are and what they are and how they utilize their potential as a person... Do not cheat or steal from yourself and from others... People can be and are successful even though they did not go to college. College can help IF when a person goes they utilize it to their very best and do not go just to hang out or just because everyone else is doing it... You do not want to waste your time there for sure. Or at anything.

You need to take an HONEST inventory of yourself and what you think you may want out of life and what it will take to achieve that. Be sincere and focused and honest on what you want for your life - and remember too for those that you will ultimately have in your life - friends, family, etc.

I love the farm and country so I went to college and learned about Agriculture, etc. And I am glad I did. But I also work in construction and learned many aspects of that as well and still learn everyday. Being as well-rounded a person as you can be will help you in ways you may not even think about right now but I can tell you the more you learn and the more areas you do that learning in and do it honestly the much better off you will be and the less fearful. Fear comes from the unknown and from keeping yourself ignorant (and in some cases even stupid) about things. And the only thing you have to fear is fear itself.

That you are having this discussion and asking is a damn good start. Always consider ALL things from ALL sources ALL the time and always ask if you do not understand something and keep asking until you begin to understand... Always be objective and have or develop an open mind about all things. Be willing to SEE things from ALL aspects... Sometimes it takes time but anything well worth it, IS.

Most people I know have some aspects they do not "like" - that will come up in everything in life even in college. Stick to your goals and do not be afraid to honestly reevaluate those goals and make sure about what it is you are doing...

Going to college and just getting that piece of paper opens a lot of doors today that would otherwise be closed if you ever want to be a professional. Plus it's a fun place to get laid constantly, drink lots of beer and party your ass off for 3-4 years while you study. I had a blast there and made some friends that I will know for life and banged chicks that I still bang occasionally.

I would NEVER go to college just to party or have a good time. It CAN BE a part of the enjoyable experience of college but should never be a sole focus of the college experience.

College should be a place of higher learning. And one of the ways someone prepares themselves for their future life and living. Cheating yourself here cheats you later down the road and all others that will ultimately depend on your efforts made here in college. And your ultimate success here or lack of...

You live in the best country in the world when it comes to making your own way. There are more opportunities in this country than any other.

Start by reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad. Robert Kyosaki has other books but don't bother with them. The greatest limiting factor in your life is you.

If you want something like that then get a welding apprenticship going. It's only two months school and it pays rather well. All you will be doing is manual stuff.

My story. Did the welding apprenticeship, worked for a few years, then decided to go for teaching. Got my associates then realized that I really don't want to be around kids, now I'm at a lumber mill making more money than a teacher. Would I trade those school years? Hell no. Time of my life, plus I have something to fall back on if I need to.

Take some time to work, but definitely go to school when you are young. You won't get the chance to enjoy it later with a wife and mortgage.

B/c shit, I am. Slacking off and dicking around/being "absent" 1/4th of the year have really come back to kick my ass.

For those with college experience, whatw as your gpa when you got into college?
Also, how high does my gpa hafta be to go into college? I live in Northern Va, one of the best educational programs in the country, very competitive . NOVA, local community college, is really high ranked but I don't really wanna do that, I want the college experience. If I don't get into college I'll prolly go military.

It's not that I'm dumb either incase you were thinking that. high 1200's on PSAT's and originally in all GT, AP classes. It's just that I've made a few bad decisions in my time. Alot of my friends skip, as do I. I even go to the gym sometimes instead of school lol. Probation >< finishes up in a month. I stay away from drugs since most of my family has been through rehab. Overall i'm just worried about not making it into college with my grades.
