protein = muscle growth

i don't see where extra calories go about in that simple equation..

Amino acids are the building blocks of protein and protein is the building block of muscle. That's what makes it... so important for growth... where the fuck does calorie come into this ? how does EXTRA or regular calories support scientifically speaking with muscle growth and protein...

so why is there a need for bulking?

protein ≠ muscle growth.

Sorry. There's way more to it than eating protein.

Not scientifically speaking...

Calories are the fuel needed to do the job.GOOD No fuel no muscles. BAD

Protein can be converted to fuel. BAD

If you want the protein to go to your muscles you need extra fuel to do the job. GOOD

If you want the protein to not become fuel and make it to the muscles........ You need to give your body other fuels (carbs &fat) so protein becomes muscle not fuel. VERY GOOD

You need energy to synthesise protein. Besides why would your body put on muscle, that's going to require more energy to run, when it isn't getting enough fuel to cover it's daily requirements??

Thats like spending your money on clothes when you're not eating.

if all you ate was protein what would your body use for energy? for anabolism? for repair? yep, protein. you wouldnt "build" a thing.
sorry...calories are calories and you need them to grow. nutrition 101

Simple physics.

You can't create mass out of nothing. You have to offer enough energy (calories) to your body to be stored as mass (muscle).

Yes, amino acids are the building blocks for muscle tissue, but your body has far more basic metabolic processes* to undergo before anabolism becomes a priority.

*e.g. keeping your heart pumping, creating blood cells, maintaining tissues (all these sort of things are responsible for your metabolic rate)

To facilitate the anabolic process, you have to eat more calories a day than you burn. Muslce building is not basic priority of the body. You have to offer physical stimulus (resistance training) and caloric surplus (eating a lot).
