Hello Knowledge
Can someone tell me the best way too loose weight before a competition,
I am a 14 year old Powerlifter in my first year - actually only been training regular since Christmas.
At present my general stat is 5'11" and 292lbs I Deadlift 341lbs Squat 352lbs and Bench 187lbs.
My issue is that I would ideally like to get down to 275lbs for a Comp on the 27th of March - yes I no not ideal but can I do this without loosing any strength and how.
I eat 6 meals a day and take vitamins and fish oils tablets and a protien shake after workout.
A basic school day looks like this:
7am vitamins fish oils porridge or spanish omlette
10am fruit
1300 chicken breast couscous/pasta/rice salad
1630 fruit+tuna sandwich or spag bol depends on training day
1930 spag bol or protien shake again depends on training
2200 steamed chicken breast or tuna sandwich
+ average 2ltrs water + more during training
Help please ?
Any help would be god sent.
regards
Jack

What's your weight right now?

If I read that right you're 14 and over 275lbs? Dear god. WTF?

What's your body fat? You need to know how much of your weight is lean body mass before you start loosing weight.

Sorry no idea of body fat or even how to work it out.

Hercules! Hercules!

I'm totally guessing but I'm going to assume given your lifts that your bodyfat % is moderate. You can totally get down to it, probably doing CKD would be best but others will have better input than I.

IMHO I think you are too young to do a CKD.

2 weeks is not a lot of time to drop that much weight. Are you trying to drop weight to enter a different weight class than what your in now?

Barnard, I'm with Jodi here - you're too young to try anything extreme to make weight. Don't worry about it for this comp, just do your comp and we'll help you trim down a bit for the next one, okay?

How many calories are you eating now? Also, try to drink more water than 2 liters per day. You should double that.

Im going to assume you have a gym teacher ? Ask him or her to help you I'm sure they know how, also what is your cardio routine

So you all think it would be detrimental to me and the results on the day

Absolutely! You said in your original post that you don't want to lose strength. 1. you are too young for anything so drastic, 2. You will lose a LOT of strength if you do any extreme diet.

Ashl your gym teacher to measure bf% I meant

Right as far as I am aware about 4500 calories, I will up my water intake and my Sports teacher does not no his Ar_e from his elbow and I do very little cardio apart from warming up in the gym pre workout

stfuandliftbtch you are dead right about the teacher, is it easy to measure bf%

Barnard, when is the NEXT comp - the one after this one coming up?

Can I just make it clear that I do not stay up this late normally but tomorrow is an off day so I can sleep in etc.

Next comp is not set so plenty of time etc after this one

Stfuandlift I was just referring to the teacher to measure bf%, kinda figured thatd know how

Jodi
Do you really think it would be out of the question as I do carry a lot of puppy fat as my dad say's.

barnard, if you were older and had done this before, we could get a significant amount of water off you. But you aren't going to drop 17 lbs of fat in two weeks. The most you could drop is about 5, and even that wouldn't be a whole lot of fun - AND you'd still have to drop 12 lbs of water after that.

I would tear a strip off anyone who would recommend this to a fourteen year old. Now listen, do your comp, and talk to us now about getting your diet under control so you'll cruise right into your next comp.
