eating before your workout

what do you guys like to eat before your morning workout?
 
A pre-lifting shake with about 40g of protein and about 60g of complex carbs.
 
1/2 cup oats and a small whey shake...25g protein....30-45 min before I lift

i usually just have a shake with 30 g of protein
and maybe some yogurt
 
a big bowl of oats, some PB, and a whey shake
 
1/2 cup oats
1 cup juice with 20G brewer's yeast
1 scoop whey in water
multivitamin/mineral
green tea


I ran out of juice and won't be going to the store until later, so today I'm having:

1 cup oats
1 scoop whey in 2% milk
 
eat breakfast, then i wait about 30-45 mins, and take a NO-Xplode, and one other thing i just started...

im trying this stuff out, normall i just eat a meal right before consisting of whole foods... i feel better with something solid in my stomach
 
800 cals...I get 40g protein for this meal..a little carb heavy on this meal

8 egg whites, 3/4 cup oatmeal with cinnamon and sugar twin. :)
 
I eat a cup of oats with 1 scoop whey 45-60 mins prior, then 10g bcaas in water 5-10 mins prior.
 
Full size bowl of Frosted Mini Wheats :P and hour and a half before approx time.

Then... 30-45 minutes prior

30grams milk protein
200mg caffiene
25 mg ephedra
10 g Yohimbe

are those still in production!?!?!
 
I usually take 20-40 grams of Whey and eat an apple shortly before lifting
 
i see a lot of oats pre workout, giddy up. Emma leigh- the oats in yogurt sounds damn good! I will take these recipes into consideration.. all sounds yum.

what do you guys say about complex carbs later at night. say 5-7pm, I hit the sheets around 9-10pm.. should i shy away from nuts and oats at night, or are they ok?

Well - Complex carbs in regards to what? After/before training or just in general?

Also nuts are not a complex carb... :hmmm: And 5-7pm is not really late at night! :p


But, generally speaking, as long as you are eating the correct calories/macronutrients for your goals then you can eat your carbs (and nuts - which are a fat) when ever you want.

Me too. I prefer not having anything heavy in my stomach during my workouts.
