So, have you sold all of your possessions and given them to the poor? I doubt it. With your line of reasoning, why don't all rich people divide up thiner wealth equally to all. That's called communism and it doesn't work.John H. said:Cfs,
You always go off the deep end don;t you?
ANYONE that thinks this "celebration" is NOT WAY OUT AND WASTEFUL is screwy. If possible, ask GOD Himself what HE thinks about all this. ....
Africa IS NOT the only place in the world where there are NEEDY CHILDREN. And yes I do make damn sure CHILDREN benefit well from MY efforts.

So, you have a problem with the Catholics spending money to honor their dead leader? Did you ever think that maybe it gives the Catholic people closure? That perhaps, for active Catholics, the death of the Pope is a deeply religious experience. In the end it's Catholics spending the money of Catholics on Catholics. Or maybe in your messed up mind, money should never be spent beyond the basics (food, clothing, and shelter) and practical stuff? Well fuck, let's just shut down the Make a Wish Foundation, those little fuckers are dying anyway so it's a waste of money. After all, that money could be better spent feeding, clothing, and housing children who are going to live, right?
Right?
]John H. said:Cfs,
I'd like to see you stand before God Himself and say to Him what you just said. You'd LET little children DIE "because they are going to die anyway"?
And you call yourself a "christian"?
And you see no problem spending an ENORMOUS amount of money on the death of the pope and the energy that is wasted on all this just so YOU can "feel good"?
And you say I have problems?
Like I said, you go off the deep end. BIGTIME.

Well John H, you didn't respond to my statement. Would you be willing to stand before God Himself and say that gay marriage was more important to you than the life of a child? Or would you be willing to say to him that the money your buddy Dr. Kesey, or whoever it was, spent on a study devoted to molesting children was more important than the life of a child? You are such a hypocritical person and you always preach open mindedness and all that bullshit, but why not just tell the truth. You really just want everyone to agree completely with you, and if they don't, then they are unexperienced and arrogant in your mind. You without a doubt have huge problems, because despite the fact that you spit all your open mind bullshit, you have no tolerance for acceptance unless it's the same view as your own.
John H, I am not off in any way. You are just afraid to admit that something that clashes with your own twisted beliefs is true. If I would have said take the money from the Pope's funeral and put it into raising gay awareness, you would have no problem. In an attempt to ease your self-centered, obtuse mind I will explain how funding the Popes funeral is decided. Now this isn't an open minded vision, or a moment of clarity that came to me while thinking of pedophilic homosexual revolutionaries like Dr. Kinsey, who you obviously show a strong affinity for. This is an official church document, so you can not argue against it, so you actually might have to (GASP!!) accept something that you don't agree with.John H. said:Gococks,
You are so far off base and completely wrong on what you are saying...
And it has nothing to do with what I said. As for Dr. Kinsey and his work it has stood the test of time and that of a lot of zealots like yourself.
I know that truth upsets you...
I notice the increase in hatred being displayed by the "religious zealots". How "christian" of you...

ill keep that in mindDale Mabry said:Sound advice!
Even more sound advice would be to learn how to spell truly before using it in a post following grammar advice.![]()

You think the pope's burial and funeral are oppulent? Wait until one of the richest people in the world gets viewed and buried. I want to see a full report from John about how this money is being spent unnecessarily and how it should be used to feed the children.
Comments please....
No, really...God knows what you're talking about...John H. said:God KNOWS what I am talking about.
Eggs said:The funeral isnt for him John, its for the believers of the Catholic religion. I know its really hard to understand because you arent Catholic, but the peope of the Catholic faith need closure, and this is one of the ways they get it.
The Pope dead, I dont really think he cares whether they throw his corpse in a burning fire or put it in a coffin. According to his beliefs, he is in a place now where that doesnt mean much.

The Catholic Document titled Ordo Esxeqiarum Romani Pontificis, or The Order of Service for the burial of a Pontiff specifies the duties of the College of Cardinals during Novemdiales, or the 9 days of mourning and prayer for the deceased Pope. They plan the funeral and destroy the Papal ring. One of their duties is to take care of the finances. The fundings come from within the church, not from your pocket like you act like. The US government does not pay for this. The Vatican is an observing city state that is recognized by the UN, so even if the funeral was paid for with taxes, it wouldn't come from you ya selfish prick. Some of the Church's money does come from investments, but a large amount is through tithes. So basically, Catholics are paying for his funeral, and I know you've never given a dime to the catholic church so quit your incessant bitching, and let a man who did more for the people of this world than your arrogant mind will ever be able to comprehend, rest in peace. If he had embraced homosexuality and fought for gays rights, you would love him, but he opposed it, and here you are bitching like a 16 year old girl who can't borrow Daddy's car Saturday night, which is yet another example of your self-centered idealistic view on the world.

We're human, we work on a rewards based nature, we want something for all the hardwork we do and many times something for nothing. Everyone knows there are starving children everywhere around the world yet they continue looking out for number 1. We're animals plain and simple. Survival is our main trip and making sure only the fittest survive is hardwired into our structure, in these times money means food and shelter the more you have the more secure you feel sadly some never have enough to make themselves feel secure so they horde ridiculous amounts. Now the crazy part comes in, some of us reach a point where we feel comfortable and decide to try to make the less comfortable more comfortable, but then that comes back to our rewards, we get a good feeling from helping and some get addicted to that feeling until it means more than security of wealth.
Along the lines of the Pope being all decked out and crap, yeah to me it falls close to idolatry, but in the name of freedom they can do what they like. They think they're doing the right thing so let it be. They aren't hurting me or mine and if you're worried about them spending your taxes on sending the Pres. then just pretend that they used all of your tax dollars on a National Forest and everything is peachy.
