So everyone here is the deal. When I was 17 years old, I didn't drink. When I worked out, I was always sore the next day. Well when I got older I started drinking. I never drank when I was in my teens. Well I went almost 20 years before lifting again. Now when I lift, I never get sore. I perform the exercises the same way as I did when I was 17 and I feel like Im not growing either. I am a little but my gains really should be better than they are. My gains in strength have really been great though. So Im starting to think that since I abused alcohol for about 14 years that now my body has a very hard time building muscle. I will admit I did abuse drugs for a time also. Please don't laugh at me because IM very frustrated. Ive been lifting seriously since April and putting a lot of effort into this. Trainers have told me my form is good. Maybe I am simply just a hardgainer and am not eating enough.

Lift heavier, more reps and sets.

Its not the alcohol. or the drug abuse. if this were the case, i should look like stephen hawking right now.

My advice? Wait. Keep training. Eat more. Told you weeks ago to count your calories and macros. And then of course, there are steroids.

You're not 17 anymore, this shit gets harder as you age...I can't do the same things in the gym either.

But, yes, eat a lot and overload those muscles if soreness is what you're after.
