I find no point in it. I will never use it, nor will the next guy (or even understand it). If its complex it's not like someone is going to do it on paper, human error is so great they would be having a program for it. It's a waste of my time and I would rather be learning things I will actually use.

I think that's bullshit. I get what you're saying but some of the concepts are so abstract that they aren't practicle for normal people.

Well, I know i'm not stupid. I'm in the top 3% in all my classes besides math, and make a good living and have never worked for anyone besides myself since a teen. I think i'm doing alright.

I've yet to meet anyone who actually uses the crap I'm studying, granted there are some who may use parts of it,but not all this crap. Those people make up about 1% of the population.

What branch of math? Can you be more specific? Arithmetic is crucial to almost everyone. Algebra and geometry is also important to almost anyone who builds anything. Even tradesmen like carpenters and electricians use geometry and algebra. Advanced math like calculus, linear algebra, deferential equations, and statistics are mostly only used by engineers and scientist, but on occasion can be useful to a laymen.

I'd say math is the most useful thing you can possibly learn. We control the world through math. We blow shit up with math. We manage information with math. We grow our food with math. Without, we would still be a third world country.

Only thing I disliked was having to write out all your steps to find the solution to a problem. God damn it, that's why they invented calculators! I don't see many people who use math in the workplace actually sitting down with a piece of paper and going step by step through numbers. Punch that shit in the calculator and viola! As long as I know what buttons to punch and what formulas to put in I'm good to go!

Did I mention I hated math? All but that one time I tried adderal. I soaked that shit up like a sponge.
