So, they WERE arrested, and just for grins, let's say they weren't and only asked to leave. What legal grounds would the Dearborn PD have to make them leave a public space?

Right, at the time, they were taken to the security booth were they were questioned. Then, it was decided that charges would be filed and they would be arrested.

This link actually provides information that they were ultimately aquitted through the court systems. Certainly no reason to make up getting arrested AND going to court AND getting aquitted, right?

You people can't have it both ways. You cannot say "oh my god, these Muslims brought religion into the mix when charged with a crime!" (football incident) and then say "Oh my god, these Christians were persecuted because they were trying to preach Christianity" when they are charged with a crime.

Legally, you have to look at the specific crimes that preachers were charged with and see if there is any evidence sustaining a convicting.

Morally, you're a god damn fucking idiot to go "preach" (in other words, provoke) these people at a celebration of their culture. These preachers are out of their fucking minds. It reminds me of the protesters that protest the funerals of gay servicemen. Fucking insane. It is clear that Christians can be just as bad as Muslims. Both religions are retarded.

Have it both ways? We're obviously not tying the footall incident into the arrests of the Christians. We're making correlations between the two incidents. They BOTH happened in Dearborn, MI and BOTH times Christians were on the receiving end.

I completely agree. The problem is, they're trying to forcefully push that idealogy upon everyone else. Like you said, you don't like it, and neither do most people. It's pretty clear that there is an obvious and clear bias towards Christians in this world. On the receiving end of what? The police response in the football incident favored the christians, and the police response in the preaching incident favored the muslims.

There is no doubt that the victim in the football incident was a christian. Doing something like that when the QB is going to take a knee is nothing but criminal.

But in the preaching incident, you are making assumptions of the innocence of the accused christian when you don't have all of the facts. You cannot logically come to a conclusion about who the victim was in the preaching incident. You weren't there, and you have polar opposite accounts from two groups of radical fucking idiots.

Here is an interesting anecdote. There is a public park directly next to three of the pubs in downtown mobile. One pub has a second story porch and people like to sit outside to drink when the music inside becomes to obnoxious to tolerate. There is a Jesus Head that sets up in the park with a sound system turned full blast who gives sermons at 10 motherfucking-o-clock on a Saturday night that nobody comes to. It is obvious that he knows nobody wants to hear his shit, but he does it anyway. We generally like to pelt him with rocks from across the street. Eventually he stopped coming after someone threw a beer bottle at him and hit him right in the side of the face.

What is my point, I don't really have one other than people who pass out literature and scream they belief systems at strangers are the trolls of the real world, and they all deserve to be hit in the face by high velocity objects until they stop.

It SHOULD favor the Christian in the football incident. He was assaulted. That is a CRIME. What did the three Christian men do to warrant an arrest and detention?

This has nothing to do with who would've, could've, should've intervened, etc. The point is, in a free society, they have every right to hand out literature wherever they want. It may have been a poor location, but that is completely irrelevent. Freedom of speech does NOT mean "say whatever you want until someone gets offended." Unless of course you're a muslim, then you can complain whenever you want if you're offended by one of thise dirty shit bag Jews. :coffee:

Okay, again..irrelevent. It may be annoying as hell, but his free speech protects that right. I don't know about setting up a sound system, they may warrant a "disturbing the peace" or "disorderly charge," what whether or not you want to hear him, it doesn't matter. He can say whatever he wants, when he wants.

I wasn't making a case or an argument. It was just a funny story. I am for free speech. However, I also wish horrible things upon people who feel the need to abuse that right. Handing out christian literature at a Muslim festival is begging for an ass whooping. I wish they would have been beat down by a mob of angry Muslims. I would feel the same if it were Muslims handing out Islamic literature at a Jesus festival.

You have the right, but that doesn't make it a good fucking idea.

Okay, I agree that there are certain circumstances or locations that people should avoid in the effort to "maintain the peace." In my responses, I wasn't going that route with it. Aside from whether or not it was a "good idea," I was just simply stating that they had the right to pass out literature without the fear of arrest or intimidation.

Being muslim is not a race, its a religion. You could decide to be muslim today if you wanted to. This is why it is impossible to discriminate.

We certainly need to deal with these issues but nobody in this thread has offered any reasonable solution, only hatred.

I remember when I was Muslim, I used to go to churches right when they were letting out and preach to the people leaving service. A-holish in retrospect... I remember we actually put hands on some Mormans that were preaching in front of our masjid right after jumu'ah... Didn't like what they were doing, but they had the right to... Just like I had the right to preach in front of a church.
