I normally have a bowl of old fashioned oats every morning (microwaved with milk). Later in the day as a mid-day snack I have a lite yogurt with about 5 tablespoons of oats mixed in. Because of the carbs should I be avoiding any more oats later in the day/evening? I've been trying to stay away from them later in the day but not sure if this is necessary or not. How about bread products such as wheat bread etc..?
Thanks,
Ryan

Why do you eat them, and why do you feel the need to avoid them?

What are your goals?

Do carbs make you hungry?

I eat them just because they lower cholesterol (i'm young but it cant hurt I guess) and it seems like a better choice for breakfast than the other quick things I can eat (cereal).

I want to gain muscle right now without putting on fat.

I dont know if carbs make me hungry.. not that I've noticed!

I'm unclear on why you single out one food.

What is your diet? Total calories, grams protein carb and fat.

I've over-posted..sorry. I have my whole diet on another thread which has my fitday calories / carb / fat/ protein listed. If I could get your advice on that one I'd REALLY appreciate it.

Well obviously he's another media frightened individual that thinks carbs are generally poisonous.

Do you need to lower your cholesterol? Having bad genes and/or eating too much fat and/or being too fat gives you high serum cholesterol. Does this apply to you?

On the other hand, having bad genes and/or eating too much carbohydrate and/or being too fat gives you high serum triglycerides (which is just as bad as having high serum cholesterol). Does this apply to you?
