I've been basically forcing myself to down oats for the past month maybe. The bland taste to them makes me sick! What do you guys put in ur oats to give them taste? today i tried splenda and cinnamin (spelling) and that was pretty good, only downside to that is that it too me a million packs of splenda to get it sweet and at that it still wasnt sweet sweet ... get it? but yeah what do you guys do??

I make a shake with dry rolled oats + fruit + milk + protein powder. You can change the flavour of the pro powder to change the flavour.
 
Clean dieting isn't easy--jeez! Just playin'. I use about 2 tsp of Splenda per 1c of oats. Tastes good to me. I buy the huge sack, though, not packets.
 
I sometimes stir in some natural peanut butter, 1-2 Tbsp.
 
woah woah.. bland?? try boiling some water, and pouring a good amount into it so its not soupy or thick, stir quickly, but dont let it absorb all the way, makes them perfect and gives them a better texture and flavor than cooking in water like they want you to. they taste great to me, but i like to add 2-3 strawberries chopped up into it, really nice that way.

ill have to try maple syrup though, i got some SF maple syrup and used it for a lot of things, awesome low cal no sugar condiment!. ive got plenty of chances to try new things, i eat about 6-8 cups of oats a day, lol try to down that man, i might have to up it more soon here too.
 
I use banana's and cinnamon to flavor my oats
 
Try dumping a scoop of chocholate whey in once they're cooked. Awlays works for me!
 
ya i liquidfied my oats in the blender and put it in my whey protein shake for the first time to see if i could gulp it down. After halfway through, i thought i was going to puke. I didn't try it again for a week but i know i need to eat them. It's so hard to swallow because it felt like i was swallowing rocks. How should i eat them/prepare them however you guys do it?

i do cinnamon and splenda as well but i buy the bags of splenda and use that for my oatmeal and save the packets for coffee.
 
a little yogurt, fruit of any kind, PB, and so on....I really prefer to have mine in shakes tho....I throw 1/2 cup in the blender with 3/4 cup water, 2 scoops protein and 4 oz mixed frozen berries.....Oats, what oats??
 
I grind my oats in a blender until it's powder, add a scoop of whey, a cup of milk (when bulking; water when cutting) and I shake that shit up. Yum.
 
Mornings: Oats with cinnamon, or whey protein
Afternoons: Oats with BBQ seasonings, or other flavors
 
Extracts work wonders, if i am in the mood for sweet vanilla and a bit of splenda.
usually i eat them plain, i think they taste fantastic. Am i alone in that?

That's similar to what these spanish cats do here in NY minus the banana, and it sure thats good.
No matter how much suugar I add to regular oatmeal it still tastes bland.

wow, thats an idea, ive never had oats with anything but sweet seasonings. Actually today, pre workout, i had oats with egg whites mixed in for the first time... I thought it was great, very thick.
 
I add in cinnamon or SF syrup to my eggwhites and oats mix..
I mix in chicken breast, oats and the seasonings :lick:
 
To those who use extracts, be careful becuase too much can cause a laxative type of effect. I accidently over poured one day and i my stomach was messed up for 3 days.

Plus, there are numerous flavors of extracts available. Orange, banana, almond, lemon, rum, strawberry, vanilla, maple, etc.
 
I eat mine raw. Cooked oats suck major balls.

I've eaten them raw in the past, but they are very dry and bland.

When you eat them raw, do you eat them alone?

Or do you mix your raw oats with anything?

same here i hate em so much :barf: , but eat them anyway. I also hate eggs but
I really have no choice there :barf:
 
raw oats arent bad in milk, kinda like cereal.

I eat them in the AM and right after my workout. Both times, they are mixed in a protein shake(shaker). They like to sink, so you have to kinda 'twirl' the shaker and drink to get them.
 
hah come on people am i the only person that enjoys eating oats a shitload and eats them with just boiling water put into it? its cool to put strawberries or something in it sometimes, but natural taste kicks ass
