Obama's Not Exactly's

mino i understand your point of view i guess, and i am not defending mccain. and we know catholics are screwed up as well. planted obama? why not they planted pilots and everything else! but i am not a consperiocy (sp) theorist. it just seems odd, you may agree or disagree, but raised muslim, wants to embrace muslim countries, has been linked to racist and extremist. he may run from them NOW!!! why is he running from them? cause they may hurt his chance of being president? i dont think our commander and chief should have EVER been involved with something like that. i mean the FBI wont even let you join them if you've done steroids in thats 10 years, but obama can be linked to things that could bring this country down? it just seems that he has been involved or linked to too many things that raise way too many questions in my mind. for one he runs from those things now that he is running for president, would he run from them if he wasn't running for president? obviously not because he was associated with them for YEARS before he ran for president. so i think he is just distancing himslef while on his campaign, but never really changed his views.also if elected will he go back to those types of things? i just do not think he should ever have been linked to those types of people if he wants to be president.

i think he should have put some distance on those things LONG before they became a problem with his campaign!
And Pro-Lifers believe life is so dear and precious yet some of them will bomb a church or murder a doctor to get their twisted point across. Just like some Klan members go to Church every Wednesday and Sunday yet feel the need to burn churches and kill black people.....

I explain it & then you can explain your statement of how the Catholics have been no better than today's radicals, as your replied to Corum's statement that "most sucide bombers and radicals are muslim! "

The biggest threat today is radical Islam, not radical Catholicism, not radical Christianity. If you're referring to the Crusades, which took place almost 1000 years ago, that is ridiculous. Of course there are shady parts of Christian history, nobody denies that.. Most civilizations have shady pasts, & with a 2000 year old organization it's no surprise that they have one too. But for you to say the Catholics have been no better, as if it is some kind of justification or excuse for Muslim's behavior, that's ludicrous. And if that's not what you're saying, why even bring it up? What does the Catholics of 1000 years ago have to do with the grave threat we face today from radical Islam?

If you're going to use that methodology, you have to have Germany for the Nazis, hate Japan for Pearl Harbor, hate England for the American Revolution. and on & on. In fact, you should hate all Americans for what they did to the Indians. You're not going to have many friends.

It's just bullshit... If the muslim people all moved away from violence & peace ensued, the only ones bringing up their dark past would be the same anti-religious people.

If a massive amount of people start blowing up buildings, chopping off heads, and strapping bombs to woman & children in the name of Jesus, I'll be the first to apologize. Until then, your argument is nothing more than deflection.

you think you have something to add SYN? you would do well to understand that there are some very large, well defined concerns with obama. similarly with McCain. dont just blindly accept this guy because he wants "change"

Of course not. Obama thrives on & will be elected by the uninformed. He's cool, so he should be President.

Until then, your argument is nothing more than deflection.

I am not defending the Muslims at all, I really just don't care much for religion...that's all.

You do have to admit your religion has a very shameful past, and history does have a way of repeating itself.

The Muslims I met have been decent so I can't condemn all of them for the fanatical few out there.

You don't see the anti-Christian bias in this post? You condemn Christians as doomed to repeat & show compassion for Muslims.

And I'm not condemning anybody.. I'm just saying you're deflecting the problems with today's Islam by bringing up 1000 year old Christian history. I was wondering why you started ripping on Catholics when the discussion was radical Islam.

If one person chopped off a head in Jesus' name, the Christian community world-wide would be outraged. The same cannot be said about Islam... there is no denying that.

and???
What are you saying?

What I've said the entire time.. Obama is an empty suit. He's winning on charisma alone. Uninformed people are voting for a cool guy without knowing anything about him.

:roflmao:
Read my lips, I don't favor any religion. I have also met a few decent Catholics in my day.

And I'm not condemning anybody.. I'm just saying you're deflecting
Lets stop right there, the only argument I have is that Obama is not a Muslim. That's it, this is where it started.
It seems like a catholic witch hunt here....don't vote for Obama....he's a Muslim.

The Muslims, Jews, Catholics can go screw themselves ...I don't really care.
Just leave the religious crap out of these politics.

Let it never be said that logic and facts got in the way of what this administration told us was right.

and yet his "stay the course" and the surge in Iraq. two very unpopular decisions seem to be working in Iraq:thinking:

But why the mention Hillary?
She was an empty dress with no charisma.
Now Bill had Charisma.

Is it?
Show me, I really haven't followed the news lately on Iraq, it would be nice to get unbiased news on Iraq.

our troop deaths are down in iraq. violence is down. this is accepted as fact. doesn't matter what biased news agency one listens to. numbers are numbers

Because Hillary was/is a much better candidate than Obama. Believe me, it hurts to say it, but I believe it.

People didn't recognize that.. they voted for the unknown, grossly unqualified, and untested Obama.

In these times, I really don't care how cool my President is.

Iraq demands timeline for U.S. withdrawal

But U.S. officials insist there is no agreement on specific dates.

BAGHDAD - Iraq's foreign minister insisted Sunday that any security deal with the United States must contain a "very clear timeline" for the departure of U.S. troops.
Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari told reporters that American and Iraqi negotiators were "very close" to reaching a long-term security agreement that will set the rules for U.S. troops in Iraq after the U.N. mandate expires at the end of the year.
Zebari said the Iraqis were insisting that the agreement include a "very clear timeline" for the withdrawal of U.S.-led forces, but he refused to talk about specific dates....

But Obama refuses to credit the Surge for that.

didnt you just say you dont know what to believe from the biased media? then you post an article?

Is that really a proper way to gauge how the war on Iraq?

I don't, I actually posted this in the wrong thread.
This article has nothing to do with the discussion we had.

Because Hillary was/is a much better candidate than Obama. Believe me, it hurts to say it, but I believe it.
I can't believe you said that.
I guess it was the lesser of two evils.

People didn't recognize that.. they voted for the unknown, grossly unqualified, and untested Obama.

You have to admit he has way more charisma than McCain or Hillary, but I do remember they this guy in Germany with a funny mustache exude a lot of charisma.

outside of looking at things 15 years from now with hind sight......yes, i would use a continued drop in violence as a good litmus test for the surge in iraq.

None of these are exactly accurate....and are taken exactly out of context.....

FactCheck.org: Sliming Obama
Another e-mail claims that Obama "is a Muslim," attended a "Wahabi" school in Indonesia, took his Senate oath on the Koran, refuses to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and is part of an Islamic plot to take over the U.S. Each of these statements is false.

These false appeals to bigotry and fear remind us of the infamous whispering campaign of eight years ago, when anonymous messages just before the South Carolina primary falsely accused Republican candidate John McCain of fathering an illegitimate child by a black woman.

The ignorant part wasn't directed at you. It was directed at the "once a Muslim always a Muslim" quote. That insinuates that people are incapable of change.

For the most part, an adult, will not change their ways of acting and behavior. People do not like change. That has been proven. All I ask, is you prove how an individual can grow up learning and practicing muslim, and then totally abandon everything he was taught and how he lived. It's not gonna happen IMO. I just think he is trying to appease EVERYONE to get votes and thats it.

FactCheck.org: Sliming Obama

with everything said in this thread i have yet to see a post showing the good characteristics of obama other than he is charismatic.

that is really not enough for me to vote for him. The truth is he has yet to complete a full term at a federal level, and he has no executive experience at all. he has not shown himself to be a strong leader or knowledgeable on the economy or foreign affairs. remove him from his campaign slogan and I need to see some substance.

I agree with you, that alone should make a person think twice.
I just don't see a reason to add stories that may not be true.
It's been proven that a lot of things said about him were false.

i really dont think americans believe any of the "obama is a radical extremist" crap. i also dont think it is a bad idea for americans to do a little research on his past and what his muslim past really is.
