Well about 4 weeks ago I started training one of my friends. Now he???s not a big kid he is 5'8 160 but the whole point is that he says he doesn't get sore at all. In fact I end up getting myself really sore because I am trying to get him sore. So does anyone have any ideas why he is not getting sore?

I do 3 to 4 exercises per muscle and I go to the gym 4 times a week and the last time I haven't missed a week at the gym in 6 months ago.

Its not really an indication of how well you are training. I typically only get real sore the first week of training. After that I might notice a very slight soreness but nothing like the first week. I guess my soreness is really more of a pump that I still have a couple days after lifting. Though every once in a while I will do something at a different angle and I might get sore. Which kinda proves changing stuff up every so long helps.

Tell him to do 10 sets of squats and see if he is sore the next day. If he isn't then try to cut him and see if he bleeds because he may be a machine :p

Tell him to sleep half as much, or just punch him :hehe:

or just give him a little less weight and tell him to do as many reps as possible. thatll burn him up

i know his muscles get tired

i know his muscles get tired because i made him do a push up after we did chest one day and he fell flat on his face

He may just have remarkable recovery abilities. Have him do some heavy negative reps where he takes 8-10 seconds to lower the weight. This causes quite a bit of fiber damage, and soon after, soreness.

Could just be genetics. My biceps almost never get sore, even after a long break from working out. It doesn't matter how hard I hit them. But on the other hand. I am always sore after a leg routine, no matter if it's been a day, week, or month since the last leg workout.

I get sore whenever I have a spotter with me.
