Texas town allows teachers to carry concealed guns

I like how they say non-military issues like finances, when they pay you less than minimum wage, bastards

That is so they don't have to pay out disability for the combat veterans that come back from multiple back to back tours of duty and bring home a few mental issues.

Freedom is never free it has a price and armed Americans have an right granted under the Second Amendment to defend that freedom within a well organized militia as required.

The intent of the Second Amendment is not granting the right to own lots of pretty guns just because someone likes guns and likes to shoot them down at the gun range on weekends.

It means that someone is granted that right under the constitution with the understanding that they would be willing to use those guns while serving in a well organized militia in defense of the concepts of freedom and liberty within a free state and die if required to defend that freedom and liberty.

Such is the price of freedom and liberty.

Quite the radical reading of the second amendment you have there. Your explanation is overlooking some very key points however. 1. as DOMS pointed out a right is not an obligation. 2. The US Supreme Court has affirmed the INDIVIDUAL right of a citizen to own firearms. 3. you have a fundamentally flawed understanding of how militia's functioned when the Bill of Rights was adopted. The militia when called upon served really only locally, and usually for only a few weeks at a time unless they chose to sign on for longer. They were not obligated to say fight for General Washington in New York if they were from Massachusetts for instance. This was not a situation where they were pressed into service because the military commander said so. If an Indian attack happened in the next county over they were not obligated to grab 'ol betsy' off the mantle and organize

The second amendment is there just like the rest of the amendments of the bill of rights. They were given to us to protect ourselves from a tyrannical federal government forming. The founders knew a strong executive was needed, and yet they were deathly afraid of the same. For this purpose they took away certain obvious ways the federal government might use to control the populace. If you read the Bill of Rights it's the anti Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot playbook.

FEINSTEIN UNVEILS SWEEPING GUN-CONTROL AGENDA

Democrat legislation includes ban on scores of firearms, database of owners

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., plans to introduce sweeping gun-control legislation at the beginning of the congressional session in January.
?It [the bill] will ban the sale, the transfer, the transportation and the possession? of certain weapons, the California senator said on NBC?s ?Meet the Press.? ?Not retroactively, but prospectively. And it will ban the same for big clips, drums or strips of more than 10 bullets.?

The senator describes the proposal as a version of the assault-weapons ban that expired in 2004.
Feinstein?s legislation ban scores of firearms, including military-style ?assault? weapons and high-capacity ammunition feeding devices. It also calls for the creation of a federal register that would require millions of gun owners to be fingerprinted and photographed.
The following is a summary of the legislation posted on Feinstein?s official senatorial website:
Bans the sale, transfer, importation, or manufacturing of:

  • 120 specifically-named firearms
  • Certain other semiautomatic rifles, handguns, shotguns that can accept a detachable magazine and have one military characteristic
  • Semiautomatic rifles and handguns with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds
Strengthens the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and various state bans by:

  • Moving from a 2-characteristic test to a 1-characteristic test
  • Eliminating the easy-to-remove bayonet mounts and flash suppressors from the characteristics test
  • Banning firearms with ?thumbhole stocks? and ?bullet buttons? to address attempts to ?work around? prior bans
Bans large-capacity ammunition feeding devices capable of accepting more than 10 rounds.
Protects legitimate hunters and the rights of existing gun owners by:

  • Grandfathering weapons legally possessed on the date of enactment
  • Exempting over 900 specifically-named weapons used for hunting or sporting purposes and
  • Exempting antique, manually-operated, and permanently disabled weapons
Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include:

  • Background check of owner and any transferee;
  • Type and serial number of the firearm;
  • Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
  • Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law; and dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration

Davie Cop Arrested After Physical Dispute With Teenage Daughters

By CopBlock on Wed, 26 Dec 2012 01:00:12 +0000

The following article was originally posted at www.Sun-sentinel.com on December 14, 2012.

A veteran Davie police officer was arrested by his own department after he allegedly struck his two teenage daughters during a fight over a Bible that he apparently tossed on the floor.

Officer Timothy Donohue, 46, appeared in bond court Thursday morning and is facing two counts of child abuse and two counts of battery. Court officials identified the two 17-year-old girls as the officer’s daughters.

Donahue posted $5,000 bond Thursday afternoon.

According to an arrest report, the teens arrived at a Davie home about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday and placed their backpacks, some papers and a Bible on a counter near the kitchen. The two girls were watching television when they heard a loud noise.

One of the teenagers then noticed that Donohue had thrown the backpacks and the Bible on the floor, according to the report. Donohue then told one of the daughters to pick up the mess.

As she was picking the items up off the floor, one daughter told her father that “he was going to hell for throwing the Bible on the floor,” according to the report.

The arrest report quotes Donohue telling the daughter to “shut up or I am going to knock your teeth down your throat.”

When the girl told the father that he’s not allowed to touch her, Donohue allegedly struck her in the face with a “slightly-closed fist”, according to the report. The girl then pushed the father back, but he shoved back, causing her to fall on the floor.

The other daughter then tried to intervene but was pushed several times by the father, according to the report.

The two girls got away from the house and called police.

In bond court Thursday, Donohue’s attorney told Broward Judge John “Jay” Hurley the incident was only a verbal dispute.

“It was a fight with teenagers,” attorney Connie Kaplan said.

Hurley ordered him to get an alcohol evaluation.

State records show Donohue, currently a road patrol officer, joined the Davie Police Department in 1998. He previously spent four years as an officer with the Hallandale Beach Police Department.

Donohue has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, said department spokesman Sgt. Christopher Chastain.
