Hello , Im new to this site and looking for some info about the best way to burn fat and lose some weight while going to the gym. IM doing about 30 minutes of cardio to start my day and wondering what else I should be doing ? I want to lift weights and excersize that way but I dont want to add size to myself. Im 5/11 about 350 lbs For a big guy , I am not lazy and not afraid to get in the gym and work hard. I really want to get myself in better shape and im determined to do it at this stage of my life.

Any good suppliments any could recommend ? I have been taking EPH 100 for energy but there making me very light headed and weird feeling. Im not sure why as I took them for a long time before and never felt that way.

Diet 75% exercise 25%. supplements are supplements. if you don't have the first two requirements in order your wasting money.
I was 305 pounds been there done that

check out my logs

Best wishes

Thanks Jagbender , I just started reading some of your blog. Very interested. I read a few pages and will go back and read more.

It's 90% diet. Calculate how many maintenance calories you need, then eat 400-500 less than that each day. Keep at the cardio.

Supplements are not going to do magic. You don't need them. If you want a way to ingest protein without eating a meal, you can get protein powder. Creatine if you're doing heavy lifting will help increase recovery.

just like the other's said, it's all about diet. If your training is consistent and you work hard, you are good to go basically.

The best exercise for fat loss is taking your knife and scraping the carbs & sugars off your plate right into the trash can. 2 seconds and your Done.

It's all about the calories - you need to figure out a way to eat less, forever, and not mind too much. The best approach for that is to focus on the foods that are the most satiating (protein, fat, fibre) and avoid the ones that are not (anything with fructose in it, low-protein foods). Think of exercise as a means of directing "calorie traffic" - it'll tell the calories where to go but in and of itself, exercise should contribute very little toward the overall deficit; it simply doesn't burn enough relative to simply eating less.

At your weight, walking or modest cycling will do you nothing but good, but nothing more strenuous than that. You should be able to maintain a conversation - if you're out of breath, slow it down. Learn to lift weights, and do that for 30-60 minutes three or four times a week, and leave the half-hour cardio sessions to AFTER you lift, not before. Read homework 1 to get started on a plan, and good luck to you. :thumb:
