When you are sick or just don't feel well do you follow the whole

Or do you give it a rest?

It depends on how "sick" you feel, or how "unwell" you feel. There is a big difference between the two though. For example:

If you feel sick, like legitimately sick where you are completely drained out, that can potentially be a sign of over training from what i have heard. As well, it is better to get some rest and let your body recover.

If you are feeling "unwell" like it is raining outside, and your just feeling lazy i don't find that a reason to not go to the gym. You might not be at 100% performance, but its better to be in the gym then sit around for a silly reason.

Just my 2 cents.

If it's just a head cold or congestion I will still go to the gym, and can still have a good workout.

Anything more than that, I will not go to the gym and probably take 1-2 weeks of from the gym and rest up.

I'm in a college dorm, and everyones getting sick all the time it's a pain in the ass.

Training while sick will continue to deplete you're immune system. I would take 2-3 days depending on how you feel. No sense in training at 50%. Chances are you aren't eating properly either while under the weather. Treat yourself accordingly to how you feel.

If I have the flu or a bad cold I will do like 60 minutes of cardio, just slow incline walking, to burn it out of me, then replenish my body with good fluids. That usually makes me feel better. I try to take 2-3 days off of lifting tho.

Above the neck = Yes to train
Below the neck = No

Def take a break and give your body some rest, to come back 100% and ready to go.

If you are sick with a contagious illness, stay the fuck out of the gym you inconsiderate fucks. Unless its allergies or some shit, your case of the sniffles is contagious, and you are spreading it across every piece of equipment you touch.

If you have any illness thats easily contagious (cold, flu, cough, diarrhea etc etc) you should be considerate of others and not go to the gym regardless of how you feel.

The amount of times i've gotten sick because some asshole in the gym was snotting over everything right next to me, or even coughing on me, is ridiculous.
