would you adopt a pitt bull that had been obviously abused

I stare into everyone of my dogs eyes lovingly all the time, nose to nose. I can do anything to them and they would never imagine I am a threat. But I do everything with them, they all try to sleep with me if I take a nap on the couch, try getting comfy with 2 50lb males and a 25 and 35 pound females trying to vie for position on a couch. Of course I raised three of them from birth.

Sheri she sounds like a sweetheart looking for a place to call home, just treat her as one of the pack and she'll be more than happy to be the best friend she was meant to be.
 
One of the 1st things you'll do in an obedience class is to put a treat to your nose to try and get your dog to look @ you in the eye, when he does you give him that treat, this shows them who is the dominant one and who the Alpha is.
 
yeah, for early schutzhund training you direct your dog to your face with treats...to get them to watch you

for highly trained schutzhund dogs they never break contact with your face the entire time they're working next to you.
 
Cabal will look in my eyes for a long time then slowly turn his gaze hopefully towards a ball wanting me to play ball with him or if I wiggle my fingers while making eye contact he comes to be petted. He just watches n waits to see what I want. He wasn't more than half grown when I got him.
 
yeah, my little terrier watches my face and looks me in the eye all the time

I've only seen aggressive dogs not tolerate it..they'll snap because of it.
my big shepherd would start to growl because of it if he wasn't in "training mode"
he wasn't what I would consider safe around children...despite his impeccable training.

I wanted to see if it would make her snap...her looking away was the desired response and she passed
 
i helped save a beaten dog once that was being trained to fight. They would starve it chain it up tease it, shock it with car battaries and ect. Some how that dog ended up in my back yard, not "sure" how it got there not admitting any criminal activity, but it was now safe. It attached to my wife was would avoid me. I am pretty alpha with big dogs so I just showed it I was the pack leader and wouldnt acknowledge it, while my pitts would come lick me and i would make my dogs be submissive to me infront of him. With in a week he would come up to me but run away, then one day he would not stop barking at me. So i went up to him to see his reaction and the dog wanted to play. It was the coolest thing ive seen. I ended up giving him to my cousin and he is a GREAT dog. A legit blue razor edge with a flawless build after we filled him out. Beautiful dog, i would have loved to keep him but I have two other pits that I rescued and was moving to the city.

So for me yes I would rescue him, I am not afraid of dogs at all and I love pitbulls. They are extremely smart, easy to train, and full of energy. The only problem with him was he hated cats, but allot of dogs dont do good with cats. My two pitts LOVE our cat its disgusting they try to clean her and she gets soo FN slobbery from them.

The new dog is a big baby...loves loves loves the kids

seems to be housebroken, walks well on a leash and is in general just a big mush
 
I would love to adopt sherri v even though shes been abused....lol

I have had several pitts. Great dogs. I recently got a rotti though and he is sooooo smart. I cant believe it..
 
my shepherds were all geniuses...my little terrier is a pretty sharp guy but..hes a terrier so he says fuck you to me a lot

yeah...I don't allow the dogs on the furniture

I have a feeling its gonna be a tough one for the new addition to comprehend because shes pretty convinced she's a lap dog

That dog knows she was rescued, big baby huey. But she does look intimidating! So does my boxer of 8 months, but give her a lil attention and she's your bff.
 
she's already turned into crazy velcro dog..which is good but concerns me at the same time
I had a prior velcro dog that could be a headache because no one could get near me
 
this morning after a little bit of training and kid socialization.

She's adopted this chair whether I'm in it or not..lol. She likes to sit behind me in it and rest her head on my shoulder and give me random kisses.

If it were just me to consider i very well might but my 6 and 2 year old make it a definite no for me.
 
I have a 6 and two yr old too....as well as another dog, a 16 yr old and a 14 yr old
 
I was just comparing...and I've started to get a little irrational in defending the dog just because she has a big head.
To be totally honest with you i don't trust ANY dog with the younger children...the 6 yr old because I'm worried the could actually injure a dog then get herself bit..the youngest because shes at that level ya know? the scary get mauled level...

I think that's just responsible parenting
 
Help me understand the purpose of having a fucking Pitbull in the 1st place.......especially an adopted Pit. The Pitbull philosophy is a joke - somehow owning a Pitbull is considered cool now. Nigs LOVE walking around polluting the streets with Pits ALL THE TIME swearing they are in a rap video while collecting stamps.......the ghetto way of life will never go away

Just imagine the day someone sees a Nig walking a Golden Retriever - HAAAA!!!
