Ok...I'm glad alot of you decided to give this a try. I think it is the best delt exercise out there, and just a great exercise overall.
I noticed a few of you mentioned lower back strain. Well, one of the reasons to do this movement is to strengthen the lower back. You should be strong enough in the lumbars to handle this. I go up to a 110 lb dumbell in this exercise with zero back strain...although not only my delts, but my whole body gets trashed with this weight.

110's huh?, that's impressive. You must be as big as this guy in our gym. He recently cleaned up at his first show and weighed 238. He can dumbbell press 130's with ease. Now he's training for a show in November and wants to weigh in around 245-247. Right now he's around 285.

Very interesting gopro, however I have come to the conclusion that presses are not necessary for medial head delt development.
I only use dumbbell laterals and upright rows for my shoulder training, and I never go heavy anymore! I try and focus on TUT rather than heavy weight for delt training.![]()

this is proabably a really stupid question, and I am probably already doing them just with a different name, but can someone describe upright rows to me?

I gave this exercise a try on Friday (last in my routine), and I had the same "problem" with lower back stress. I'm glad to know it's not really a problem at all. Some people looked at me like "What the hell is he doing?" They can all lick my balls.![]()
