The ratings are only a guide.

And ratings given are done so as not to interfere with the gross profits of the film. As with most anything it is all about the money.

John H.
The ratings are there to indicate the amount of offensive content, such as violence. The Passion is the first R rated movie in grossing at #9 overall, the next R rated movie is The Matrix Reloaded at #24. Obviously violence is not the key selling point for movies, but the quality of the film itself.

3 of the top 5 grossing movies in the US are PG. Violent films like E.T. and Shrek 2.

The passion was a huge film because most people are simple minded and still believe in Cronus, Zeus, Jesus, or whoever is the Deity on the millennium.

Every MAJOR (Greece, Rome, etc.) kingdom that worship anything other than Jesus or his father is gone! When Jesus died there were like what 360 christans? Look at how many there are now. The people who worshiped Cronus and Zeus tormented Christians, now they are Christians. ForemanRules, I dont think theres a god, I know theres a God! Foreman come back after u study the Roman Empire from 500 B.C to 500 A.D.

Hi Brogers,

I can assure you I am not at all dellusional.

I stand by what I said. Movies about the Passion of Christ have been made before without the violence and did not sell nearly as well or were as "popular".

The pre-"publication" hype certainly did help sell the movie but the "ignorance" and "closed-mindedness" AND hysteria AND desperation of "religious" zealots and desperate people helped too because they are so lacking in their personal lives and so terrified of the unknown they are willing to accept or swallowing anything shoved their way or "shoved down their throats" as a panacea...

The movie would not have done nearly so well had it not been immersed in violence.

And what did Mel Gibson DO with the MILLIONS he made on the movie and at the expense of those that saw it - expense personal and real and imagined with and within each person...

You mention I should make a movie with violence - I have seen and experience more than I ever care to relate in war and I am not in the "business" of using others at their expense for my personal wealth - and that includes monetarily and personally. I DO NOT and NEVER WILL USE people. That does, however, seem to be to be the "going thing" in today's world and the current measure of "success"... I want no part of that crap.

And I am NOT that kind of person.

Take Care, John H.
name another major movie made about Christ. you cant. you say there is one, but dont name specifics. also mel went and donated money for a chuch to be built with some of the money. and if violence was such an issue for it being successful, why was there enough pressure for a re-release with the violence removed? people are interested in Christ. thats how it is.

I stand by what I said because it is true. Period.

God and I have a very good relationship. "Religion" - I would take to the dump.

It has taught me that life is beautiful and all types of people are worthwhile to know. It has freed me from the judge mental and hateful ways of almost all organized religions.

U blame people hate on religion, but u clearly forgot about how much people can hate because of skin color, nationality, etc. If there was no religion the world would still be the same.

I am well aware that "christians" came after the death of Christ. At least those that "profess to be"... Whether they actually follow the Words and Teachings of Christ HIMSELF is ENTIRELY another matter and many really do NOT. Oh they SAY they do but as with many "religions" people LIE a lot and PRETEND to be "so pure and righteous"... Which is why I have NO USE for "religion" - and before you twist what I say (and others like you) I AM NOT saying I do not believe in God (or Whoever you perceive Him to be or whatever name you call Him) - I have NO USE for "religion" - there IS a BIG VOID between God and "religion"... The evidence is all around IF one is willing to OPEN their eyes and see...

"Twisting"? Hell "christians" TWIST all the time and everything. And you should know.

At least I got your "attention" but I suspect that is about all. You wouldn't know about the TRUTH if it hit you between the eyes.

Hi god hand,

While I am sure Foreman can and does speak for himself I MUST say: "religion" more often than not is AT THE HEART of the hatred, bigotry, narrowmindedness, tunnel-vision, etc. Yes, people ALSO hate because of skin color, nationality, etc.

I wish I had the power because if I did I would want to eradicate abuse of ALL others, especially children, politics AND "religion" from the face of the earth. THINK ABOUT what this would would be like WITHOUT these things. How MUCH BETTER off everyone WOULD BE.

Hi God hand,

Actually by eliminating "religion" it WOULD eliminate a LOT of hatred, bigotry, etc. I'd like to give it an honest try...

"Religion" IS the cause of a lot of it. And please do not get this confused. I am not saying eliminate God I am saying eliminate "religion"...

Yeah I know what tha fuc your saying. And yes your right, BUT! There would be no reason to do any good deeds. If I didnt believe in God, I would have killed many people by now and trust me, I'm not the only one. Thats y the world would be the same if not worse. Y would I fear my wrong doing or the pain I bring others, if I believed there was no judgment for my wrong doing? The only thing keeping a LOT of people from doing evil is there religion! If people didnt fear and believe in eternal damnation, they would be a lot worse! I'm talking about evil! I could easily grab a glock and robbed the corner store with no problem. And trust me John H, I'm NOT the only person like this!

Hi god hand,

Why create anything bad?

Why can't all deeds be good?

Why have "wrong doing"? What's its purpose?

Why would there be any need for "judgement" if all people treated each other well? There would be no need for any "eternal damnation"!

I TOTALLY DISAGREE with you on "religion" keeping people from doing wrong - hell MANY DO WRONG in the name of "religion" ALL THE TIME!!! They use their "religion" and its beliefs to DO WRONG!

What would your reason(s) and purpose(s) be for wanting to kill anyone? What would cause you to go to that extreme?

Take Care, John H.

if there is no bad then there is no good. no hate then conversely no love. there just is a bunch of zombies running around that all do the same things with no diversity. we are here on this earth to learn good and evil. the greatest gift God gave us was our ability to choose for ourselves what we wanted in this life. God did not create bad. he lets it happen so that we may gain wisdom, experience, and knowlege.

john i would think you of all people would be happy he has given us diversity and does let us choose for ourselves whether we want to accept the good or the bad, the right or the wrong. we must just realize that there are consequences for our actions and choices we make. hence he rewards us for choosing the path he would want for us and we are penalized when we choose contrary to his will for us.

john i really hope that you try and read this with understanding. i realize because it is coming from me you will probably disregard it off right, but that is just how it is.
